My 1st grow...need advice regarding my set-up and strain please

The thing with LED is to keep the canopy as level as possible. 40 days vegged. topped 1 time! then mains are tied down center branches come up! On average I will have 8 tops on each of em. The 3 under T8 will be moved over when the 2 area51 RW 150s come tommarow. I started under pruning a little. No sucker growth here! Reserva Privada strawberry banana and Purple Og18, Elemental honey bananas,gummy bears and truberry.

Jimmy, with my space and lighting I'm either doing exactly what you described (candelabra-looking) or scrog. I see so many grows in spaces like mine with double the lighting (led or otherwise), and agree that a level canopy is going to be especially important with my limitations. I'm really leaning toward scrog...I'm hoping that having the screen in place will enable me to really fill in the canopy without messing up too much.

All 3 seedlings doing great. I was going to wait until they were around 10-11", top the mains and put the screen about 18" above soil level. This won't allow me to fully utilize the height of my closet, but I think that I'll benefit more from the even canopy under my circumstance. I'll only be rocking 100w actual in veg until I flip on the flowering toggles, and can't wait to see how these leds perform while drawing the same watts as a single old-school incandescent.

so, obviously it's a closet grow. never heard of AK-48 (ak47?). since it's 2' deep i doubt you'll want to top them into bushes. you'll probably want to take five 3g pots (or the 5g smart pots if they fit), and let them grow to about 1-2 feet tall straight up, and then flower them. unless you want to get all bonzai crazy with your training methods, i suggest you just let them go straight up like christmas trees until you're ready to flip. don't worry so much about adding 'nutes'. Just add about 5-10 drops of calmag into every gallon of water you give them. We usually leave a little room at the top of the pot of the vegging plants for a bloom top-dressing with a light mix of manure/wormcastings/compost. I'd say if you were going to flower the plants from seed, you should grow them out for 6-8 weeks before flipping them (mainly because you have an 8 ft tall ceiling). You could even go longer probably.

I didnt know you should leave 2 inches for the flower stage. Good info for a noob like myself thank you. Is there a sticky that has all that stuff?
