My 2 problems....need advice

Ok so here are my 2 problems

1) i have a seed that germinated an grow about 1 1/2-2" tall, unfortunately in my ignorance since this is my first...i over watered it an the leaves turned yellow. I looked it up for a solution....decided to take it out of the wet potting mix an put it in fresh potting mix an watered it...not to much. I checked it in a couple hours an the leaves had started to turn back green...ok....i left it again an wen i came back to it the wind had blown it down an my plant was on the ground out of the dirt. I replanted it but the leaves dried up an died. But the stem is still green an standing tall from since last week. Will it survive???? What can i do to help my plants????

2) Some of my other seeds hatch...but everytime i put them into the potting mix they die. What might i be doing wrong??? How long should i let the tap root grow in the tissue before transfering it to the potting mix??

Well-Known Member
You're introducing a transplant risk that you do not need. Put your seeds 1/2" deep in your seedling soil (pre-wet the soil) and keep soil temp in the mid 70s and you'll get the results you want. I doubt your first seedling will survive.

are you using a potting soil?? like light warrior? from fox farm..which is great for seedlings.... put the seeds in a wet paper towel. put in dark place. in a day or so look for tap root. and then place in your medium... if they dying? either your soil is way too hot for them tender roots. or light is way too bright.. sounds like your doing this outside?? if so. they will do fine in shaded area for first week.. . hope this helps a lil.

I used to germ in a paper towel but for the last several years I just put them into seed starter soil with good temps and humidity and I've had great results ....the only time/reason I will germ in a paper towel is to see if the seeds I have are still good ....otherwise I plant rite in the seed starter .......kinda like nature does....imagine that

i promise. if you put those lil seedlings in direct sun . at those temps.. its a rap. .. but ive been wrong b4.. happy growing.. ;}

Have you considered growing yours that way? Growing like there's no tomorrow sounds fast. Does it matter what kind of gate it is?

Cant just do that cuz it aint legal here yet soooo.....yea.....wen i say throw over the gate it is actually galvanize an the seeds were given no care they just grew naturally an were discovered later

Im gonna try keeping them inside for the first where it is cooler. But my bf has a tree an he put his outside with mine an his is growing well. They arent directly in the sunlight we have something over them blocking the sun

Update*****
So my plant that was a stem died but i have two more that i germinated an they are growing well. They have their first set of real leaves an the second set is now coming up.
They are green but one of them piece of the col leave is brown an shriveled....will that affect the plant in any way??
