My 2011 grow.

just finished up trimming the last of my sweet organic flowers. first off, i have to say it feels great to be done. i think i might need glasses after all that trimming. i'll keep it short and sweet with this grow bio and answer all questions that come my way.

so let's get started...

it was getting late in the season(late june) and i decided to do an outdoor run with some extra plants i had vegging in 1 gallon pots in my backyard that were left over from a previous project. Me and a buddy of mine dug out a bunch of staggered 20 gallon holes. We then mixed coco with my organic nutes in a wheelbarrel and filled the holes. i watered the holes to take out any salts in the coco. the next morning i came out and planted my young teens.


my garden a couple weeks after planting. Flavors include Chemdawg '91, Skydog, Cherry Pie, Cotton Candy, XJ-13 and UK Blue Cheese.

i have to admit that when i first transplanted from the 1 gallon pots in to the ground i neglected my plants. some were yellowing and wilted, others had smiter mites. the organic soil that i transplanted my plants in to did something special to them. i covered the base of each plant in lava rock to protect them from pests. i put a 3 1/2 ft screen around the plants using posts because the streetlights were bright and they were keeping my girls from sleeping. the fence turned into a fully enclosed circus tent.





i wanted my plants to be bigger than they were at the time of flowering so i would go out there with a flashlight every night but some were already triggered so i created some stretching in the buds, oh well.

i fed them a mix of fish food and molasses once every other week throughout flowering.

couple weeks later.

ok, so everything was rolling smoothly with my garden...until the surprise summer tropical storm hit the bay area. i woke up one morning and like every morning i put some shorts on and walked outside to go caterpilla hunting in my garden. it was sunny outside. however, when i walked out i noticed the ground was wet. i jumped on the weather channel i found out that it had sprinkled lightly the night before. luckily i had the shade net over my garden so most o f the moisture never got to meet with my buds.

my local news said it was supposed to rain again that night so i scrambled to secure the nets on the side and the canopy net with tie wire. i also took down 2 of my Cotton Candy's and 1 of my Cherry Pies. that night before the rain i covered the garden with a gigantic blue tarp that i had in my garage. it rained hard but i stayed up all night and periodically went out and drained the rain that puddled up on top of tarp covering the plants. the next morning i went in and to my surprise my cheap ass tarp didnt stop rain. it sort of diverted the water but most of the plants were drenched. i chopped down the rest of the cherry pies and cotton candys.

after chopping the rest of the Cherrys and Candys i used pvc glue to reinforce the frame because the wind had pulled it apart. i'm glad i did too. i was exhausted from the night before so i took a nap. when i woke up i went to home depot to buy some rope. before i left i made sure to cover the garden with that cheap ass tarp(better than nothing, i guess.). at home depot i bought a bundle of rope so i could run it over the tops of my plants and use ties to trellis the water beaten limbs up off the wet ground. when i checked out of home depot i noticed the dark clouds forming in the sky and decided it would be best to make haste back to the house. by the time i got to my car it started sprinkling and before i could make it even halfway home it wass storming. by the time i reached my garden the front of the tent had collapsed on 3 of my plants.

i chopped them and salvaged what i could. all the muddy buds went to a hash bag. the plants that made it through the storm were fed plain ro'd water for the remainder of their lifespan(about 2 1/2 weeks). the buds are smelly and frosty.

thanks assasin i've spent the day or so pulling pieces of tarp out of the bud with fine tweesers but the end results are well worth it my friend.

Good grow. Are there any issues with nieghbours popping thier head over the fence.

No, actually, my neigbors to the left are awesome. they're outside all day and always let me know if anything suspicious happens when i'm gone. all 4 of my neighbors starting directly to the right of me down did the same thing i did this summer and we live in a cul-de-sac so we all watched out for eachother. early in the summer we had a little wind storm and the cover from my original greenhouse flew over my neighbor in the back's fence but he was also cool and helped me pull the tarp back over to my property. all in all, my neighbors are pretty chill. however, that didn't stop me from camping out in my backyard throughout the end of October.

Next year Double J I might have to pick a carport up. I definitely want to fully enclose whatever environment i choose to grow in next year because the catterpillars in my area have tapeworms and eat like Koboyashi. i have about a pound of what was left of top buds from the catterpillars ravaging through them.
