My 2020 Indoor Sunshine Grow

I started germinating these seeds on April 5 @ about 4PM, which was just a few minutes after harvesting my 2020 winter grow.

5 Crop-King auto-fem seeds, four different strains.... one Early Miss, one Revolver, one Candy Cane, and two Dwarf Low Flyers



April 9th - approx 4PM - 3 of the 5 seeds have just popped which is rather slow in my books, that's 4 full days of germinating

First up was the Early Miss....then the Revolver, then one of the Dwarf Low Flyer (DLF)



April 10th - another DLF popped, but the Candy Cane has not

Early Miss, front left....Revolver, front right.... DLF2, rear left......DLF1, rear right


April 11th - gave up on the Candy Cane seed....but I did put it in a pot of a household plant just in case

So these will be my 4 plants for this summer, which is all I wanted as that's our legal limit here in Canada


Now to decide if I'll grow in soil or hempy buckets...and which nutes to use

Getting lots of decent sunshine, the little gals are doing well



the smaller DLF's have caught up to the EM & Revolver


transplanted them into 2L pop bottles, with perlite and a soil cap (about an inch)

Then the pop bottle sits in a cashew jar to contain any drippings and for stability, also to shield the sunlight from the roots

The sun is almost down now.....actual sundown is 8:01 PM but it gets a bit blocked before that time

They are doing well but at this point there is very little growth as they are too busy working on their roots.

Still just feeding with water (pH balanced) .....still haven't made up my mind on nutes but I'm leaning towards GH MaxiBloom

I started using nutes yesterday, I know it's a bit early but I used only 1/4 strength

I had several choices for nutes but have decided to use up my General Hydroponics Maxibloom....plus Cal-Mag and pH+

progression is painfully slow in the early days....but they are doing well

What kind of yeild do you average in the 2 liters? I use coco(Royal Gold Tupar) all on its own since it comes with good amount of perlite in it, and feed 1/4 nutes the night before planting the seeds so they are fed from day 1. Just Mega Crop and Cal Mag. Nothing else. Different strains, different yeilds, but when i don't get lazy and feed 2x a day i usually will get 2 oz per and maybe a few more grams over or under for different strains.

Agree, it does depend on the strain, as the DLF typically only yields an ounce or a bit more.....the others are more like 2 to 3 ounces

Biggest problem I've had was trying to figure a bottom system to keep them from falling over. I had a HSO Blue Dream get over 3 ft tall and it tipped over 2 days in a row. Had to tie arms up everywhere.

I like using these plastic shoe boxes filled with rocks to make the plant very bottom heavy....works like a charm.

The pop bottle sits in a cashew jar, which is taped up to secure the jar to the shoe box, then pull out the pop bottle to feed.

Or if they are all tied up, add a hole to the jar so the runoff from the pop bottle goes into the shoe box, then a hole in the shoe box to drain to an open container/tray...a bit convoluted but it works

I've had a few that needed to be tied up...which is a good thing as they are too fat to hold themselves up

I ran a perpetual quite a few years ago for some time. 24 plants in 2L Coke bottles. Three, three week cycles (so there's three stages of flowering plants at a time). My point here for you is that I used the 8-bottle carriers to put the bottles in. That way, I could lift out or move around an entire batch of eight plants with ease. I 'borrowed' the trays from the side of the local convenience store where I lived at the time.

The best(easiest idea) i tried was a 13"×9" and 6" deep plastic tub from Walmart. I just cut 4 holes in the top and set them in it. It works fine, but than i hate taking them out just to keep the shit emptied out.

I have considered that approach, which would work really well in a tent, but I like the flexibility/portability of the shoe boxes so I can move them around the livingroom to seek out the direct sun rays

just look behind your local grocery store....they don't seem to worry about them as nobody really wants/needs them...except us

Happy 4:20 folks

the girls are all doing well....the EM is looking the strongest, but very impressed with the DLF-2 (Fresca pop bottle)

the Revolver is the slowest...even the DLF-1 is looking bigger
