tommyhobby: u see the link for that inline duct fan???? whtchea think
thats exactly what I did. It works ok but my dayton blower is fuckin strong so IM going to switch em and use the inline for intake.the 8" fan has a BOOSTED cfm of 500....which is when its working with a fan on a furnace or a/c....the non-boosted cfm is 210. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xi0/R-100080191/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
im gettin one today or tomorrow...whenever i get off my lazy ass and go to home depot. im not hookin any duct work to it though, just mountin it to the wall with a flange and puttin a light proof vent on the outside.
nice diy. +rep.
It works great for you because your exhausting straight outside. You're using it exactly what it was intended for - an inline duct *booster* fan. You have no carbon filter rigged to the exhaust end of it. Meaning there's no resistance.Ok been long time. my lowes built fan is still running good. its now in the middle pf 2 , 2' long dryer flex tube. took it apart ladt week vaced out dust (not to much) and bam , still kicking it.lol. yea spmething with stonger cfm would be nice, but it still keeps oder down and heat out. peace.....
100-150 bucks for a good 4 inch inline to properly work with a filter, or 6 months with bubbas dick up your ass?It works great for you because your exhausting straight outside. You're using it exactly what it was intended for - an inline duct *booster* fan. You have no carbon filter rigged to the exhaust end of it. Meaning there's no resistance.
Not bashing, just explaining a bit for anyone googling this thread, like me.
I'm currently trying to find a fan that will scrub air inside, with a carbon filter on the end of it. Looking like i'm going to have to drop 100$+ on a god damn fan. Ridiculous.
Sorry for the necro btw. Peace.
"it also takes smell out with it.." That's not a good thing.thanks ,the room is 4x4x6.last year for summer was getting 100 deg.f + ! now this year in the low 80's last week when it was real hot here it was like 88,so its good for me,also makes negative presure when closed up so it also takes smell out with it...
If there's a harbor freight nearby, the have the same speed controllers even cheaper.I bought a couple of these same fans from lowes. very weak. not even strong enough to ventilate my small closet grow. then i bought a couple of the cheapest real inline fans from htg with some fan controllers and my shitt stays the temp i want.
Don't bother putting one on the exhaust, the 500 cfm fan will overpower it and pull air backwards through it.question about cfm...bigger the number the better?? expensive fanss i see are like 170 cfm...i found one for like 45$ and its 500cfm...
im thinkin about gettin the 500cfm inline duct fan..for exhaust and then gettin 1-2 of those cheaps ones for intake..perhaps one for another exhaust..
