My baby: Afghan Kush Ryder - growing too much!

Hello guys!

I'm on my first indoor grow and i have received a creature to take care of.

I've built my own box 40x60x125, stuco reflector with a 200W CFL AGRO lamp and a TT100 extractor regulated by a SMSCOM controller+thermostat.

Now my baby is 37 days old and 50 cms. tall.

I expected her to stay small but it's growing over my expectation (love makes wonders).

She has only 13 cms. of space left from the lamp to grow and i'm really worried.

What can i do? Anybody has advices?

I thought i could place the lamp on her side but i don't know if a CFL lamp can stay vertical. Anybody?

I tried also to curve her but i'm worried she could break...

Really don't know what to do.

It seems her lifespan it's 45-55 days but i didn't understand if it's from the seed or just the flowering period.

In the last case i expect her to grow up again and i'm really really worried...

HELP!!!:weed:

You should see her height slow down as it really starts pouring on the flowering production...Try and get the CFL as close as you can without burning to try and keep it the size it is. If you start running into height issues you can tie down the top a bit, but only do it if you have to and just be gentle with it :)

I was going to say you could have topped her but your starting flowering.. You can do some very light LST. Get yourself some twine and tie it around the top of the plant then start gradually bending it. You can bend it more and more little by little until it has a good bend in it. This will also make the 2 nodes under the bend get more light and become mini tops. I have had to do it a few times from running out of from. Wish I had some pics for you of the bend but I think you get what I am talking about.

thank you guys!

I really hope she slows down...
I read somewhere that autoflowering plants cannot be topped. Right? Wrong?

What about the CFL lamp? Would it be possible to place it vertically? Is it necessary to keep it horizontal? Is there any danger in placing it vertical?

She was born on 30th october. When do you think will be harvest time approx.? 55 days from seed or 55 days from 1st flowering day?

Please enlight me...

Hi guys!

i still don't understand this plant...

She's on her day 49 from seed. Looking at the buds it seems she's ready though her flowering time is only at day 23.

Can you tell me what in your opinion should be her harvest time?

On world of seeds site they say 55 days but i still don't understand if from seed or just her flowering time...IMG_1989.jpgIMG_1988.jpgIMG_1987.jpg

What do you think looking at the the pictures?

I read somewhere that autoflowering plants cannot be topped. Right? Wrong? Wrong, you can top them but its best to do so early early on. But I didn't realize it was a auto so I wouldn't bother topping it. You can, but that doesn't mean you should

What about the CFL lamp? Would it be possible to place it vertically? Is it necessary to keep it horizontal? Is there any danger in placing it vertical? Yes you can do it vertically. I know of many growers who grow vertically. Are you talking about is it dangerous to put your light vertically?

She was born on 30th october. When do you think will be harvest time approx.? 55 days from seed or 55 days from 1st flowering day? Afgan Kush takes about 8 -9 weeks to flower. I am guessing your afgan kush ryder will take about that long too. But honestly you should go bye the trichomes. Get yourself a magnifier. Radio shack sells a really good one for 10 bucks.

BTW did you see my blog? If not have a look http://cannabis-Country.blogspot.com
And if you have Facebook it would be ultra helpful if you liked my blog. You can do it right from my blog. Cannabis Country is only a little over a month old so I am really trying to promote it.
And liking it on Facebook would be very helpful

From those pictures it looks like they are getting there. But I would let them go longer. Like I said in the post above there is no exact harvest time and you can't go by what the place you bought the seed from said.
Its better to go buy what your plant says. I know they can't speak but they don't have to. Just inspect her carefully. I would really consider getting that scope I told you about. Only 10 bucks at radio shack and you can't
beat that. Its a really good scope I use it all the time.

you mean the amber dots right?
They kinda look like dots. Actually its more of a miniature shroom the way it looks. The top of it is what you want to look at. You want to make sure most are milky and amber

Sorry took so long to reply. I never noticed that you posted. It didn't show up on my list. Hope all is well.

My blog is going great btw
