my cat ate all of my plant's leaves!

So this is my first time growing a MJ plant. I had a beautiful female plant who was growing so nicely and had nice big green leaves and was starting to smell a little. she was growing little leaves where the leaf stem met the stalk (her "armpits" as I call them) and she was getting her first little fan leaves. She was growing in the sun out on the window sill and then brought in at night. She's about 5 inches tall. And then! While I was out, my cat got to her and ate ALL of her leaves!! She is now just the stalk. It's so sad. However, she has little teeny tiny fan leaves at the top and some little leaves left in her "armpits". She was so happy! and now she looks like a green stick. Is there any hope?? I've read similar posts where the plant survived and grew back heartily after a while, but they said that it was a male. I purchased female seeds, so, should I have hope that she'll come back? I'm so sad. Any suggestions??

There is always the possibility that she will... But don't be surprised if that stress has some bad effects

That sucks. My cat likes to chew the tops off my young plants too.
I'd probably cut the top off, and root it if I were you.
Good luck man.

Yep, cats love those little seedlings. Lost a whole tray of clones once to a weed-loving feline.

If there are tiny leaves showing there's a chance she'll come back. They can take a surprising amount of abuse sometimes. Good luck.

gotta keep em locked out of the grow space man. lots of cats love the ganj. just harvested a blue dream plant yesterday and the cats would not leave my side after I stepped out of the grow room.

well, I thought she was safe, and had her in a sunlit room that the cat couldn't get to. Went away for a week and the house/pet sitter who, to her defense, as she is my boyfriend's mom (and clueless) was told by said boyfriend to water the house plants while we were away. She, not knowing what type of plant she was, took it on her own to take it outside for some sun -- which is where the cat attacked! It was a folly of errors... I hope MJ pulls through. :( out of the 15 seeds we bought in the 'Dam, she's the only one who germinated and grew... we were pulling for her...even more now...

Those are spots for secondary branches. Did she eat all the leaves off the top or is it still pushing off growth? If she did it's fine. If she didn't it's fine as well. If your plant still has it's secondary branch spots then it's still good to go. It'll survive.

Don't do this. Let them have direct sunlight or it'll just get all stretchy and won't amount to much.
(and clueless)
Probably not as clueless as you think.
And keep it safe from the kitty. The little guys love em some dope plants.

Anyways is there a chance you could upload a photo of said stick plant and we could assess the damage and could better direct you from there. Try to get in as close as you can but get the whole plant in the same frame. I'm just curious if your plant was topped or not.
