well here we are in the midst of a private use grow - I am almost 7 weeks in on a feminised white widow grow with emotional support for the widows provided by a chocolate thai skunk and kc Brains kc33. All from attitude seed bank. The white widows germinated instantly the thai was reluctant and the kc33 was like pulling teeth. here we are about two weeks in:
Yousee that little runt? KC33. keep an eye on that one folks. I started the whole project on a smal 24 inch four bulb cfl from worms way but quickly saw that was going to get me only so far total lumens of about 7800 and not high out put. here is a shot at week three:
I had started putting half a tablespoon of alaskan salmon compost into my filtered water with a ph of 6.5. the soil was some 20 dollar bag from the local hydro shop. I also was at time germinating seeds for the vegetable garden and flowers. Love to garden. But knowing I had a need for light I hit the web with limited monies." Eway" and a credit card got me this reflector with 8 bulbs 4 veg high output and four HO Flower bulbs. Small electric bill and heat with decent 26000 lumens for 158 clams. Yay internet! perfect for that hard to please recently divorced person in your life. So I turned it on and got it hanging a few inches away and things started growing.
So I added a small fan from an old pc I had stored away hacking an appropriate power cord and plugged it and the lights into a power strip with storm protection plugged intoa timer set to 18 hours light in my 5x4x5.5 foot grow room. Which I lined with emergency mylar blankets bought on line six for 9 dollars. Yay internet! Remember that runt kc33? Here it is 6.5 weeks later:
So tall I had to bend the damned thing, just like the thai plant, also the leaves look droopy because I am about to water them They go about a day and a hlf between watering times:
[]The white widow though I likey big time. So far I have two phenotypes emerge short n squat and a tad stretchy I liked it so much 3 weeks ago I germinated 3 other feminized seeds! Plus I cloned a white widow a thai and a kc33.
Also I had a spare thai and kc33 I left out side. Gave one to a friend and left the other one alone in a pint container. I'll show you that sometime. So here are the two types of white widow tall and squat. the tall one was up against the lights for about two days so a tad crispy.
and the other is just right
You can see in the background the small 2 foot long lights, I propped them on the side so the smaller plants can get light from it yet it will still put light on the lager plants under canopy. I plan to stuff cfls around the plants when i go to flower time next week. the smaller light in the back I will pull and keep on my vegging plantsand clones for now till I can afford another four foot HO CFL. The shorter of the white widows I will clone a lot not the big one , one of the three week old seedligs instead. Dont want to rock the bud boat with sudden pruning before flower time. Also I am at one table spoon of salmon compost per gallon two galllons for all four big plants with a touch of calcium nitrates every now and then. Plus every other watering I flush with pure water. Oh and I added one table spoon of molasses now for the last week and a half.
here is a group shot almost two weeks ago
here they are today
The widow on the far left is on the ground the others are raised six inches I have two and half to three feet of room right now and when too tall I will take the six inch platform out. Hopefully everything will be in full flower and ready for harvest by then.
White widow is said to flower for 45 to 60 days same as kc33. Thai is nearly 85 days. I have one issue arise and that is a very limited amount of sudden pale leaves around the top of the thai
Any Ideas?
I would of posted all of this earlier but wanted to be sure I had a decent enough outcome so far and had something to show for my efforts. Thanks for dropping by all comments welcome.
