bro i got an idea do you mind if i post that diagram thing here so we wont have to keep resorting back to shefsmokes journal.
if you use your idea of putting a small box next to it but instead stack some more boxes on the side of it and run the duct into the box beside it,
depending on how stealthy you have to be
but that shit can be hidden

ya man no problem go ahead and post away. I know what you mean now. cut a hole in the side of the box and stick the carbon filter right there with a fan blowing fresh air in from the other side to filter all the smell out. I think I just might go this route man. But uhhh ya post the diagram

How to Create a 400 Watt HID Rubbermaid Grow





You Will need:

Three Rubbermaid bins
Three higher velocity fans
One lower velocity fan
A sharp razor or knife
Mylar, or flat white paint



Step one: Place one Rubbermaid bin right side up take cover of and put to side








Step two: remove the cover of a second Rubbermaid bin and place face down over the first Rubbermaid bin








Step Three: Cut a hole in the bottom of the top box









Step Four: put last Rubbermaid right side up with cover on top cut hole in bottom of Rubbermaid bin first









Step Five: Cut a hole in the second bin up on the side for one high powered fan



Step six: Cut directly opposite for the second high powered fan
both will be pumping air in










Step Seven: Cut a hole on the side of the top box so that the third and final high powered fan will fit blowing air out



Step eight: Cut a hole on the side of the bottom box so that the low powered fan will fit and blow on your plants nicely











Step nine: Affix hood and bulb so that it can hang from the cover of the top box










Step ten: put mylar all over the inside, if Mylar is not an option use flat white paint


Step Eleven: put them plants in there and let em grow



To access the plants simply take the top bin off the top,
to get all the way to the plants take the middle and top off

do you think you could attach the ducting extending to the carbon filter if the fan is in the side of the bin?

Idk man if i saw three glowing rubbermaid bins on top of each other I would think something is up. I like the setup it just doesn't seem very stealthy at all. I think a cabinet would be much stealthier IMHO. +rep though for creativity

Well its going to be in the attic were I am going to be putting the grow op anyways. I'm just talking about MAJOR light leaks and smell leaks ya know. No one that I care about will go up in the attic. My mother can't get up there I know for sure so thats out of play anymore. I just want to get through the summer without having to buy bud. I mean one or two runs and then when we get a place of our OWN I'll probably lose these and go back to the closet.

Aight here it is. I'm not going to be using my HID. I am going to break my cfls back out for the time being. I am only gonna be doing a couple runs with this. Hope you like the set up, its still going in the crawl space of my attic but I can't get pics of it cause the only cam I can find is my webcam.

Thank you thank you. I have you to thank for the idea. Last night as I was laying down I just kept trying different things out in my head lol. I couldn't get growing off of the brain. I had to go to walmart today anyways and I just picked up the stuff. I'm going to be putting the lights in it this weekend after I work and make some more money. I'm pretty sure by monday I'll be up and running. Before I put the seeds in the soil I wanna see what temps are going to look like, the myth about cfls not putting off any heat is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG lol. I found that out the hard way by buying them for my first grow lol. Oh well good thing I did.

lol i often find myself laying in bed awake for sometimes up to an hour because my mind always drifts off into growing and different ways to improve or do new things, its crazy whit

im putting together a cardboard box stealth set up that will go in my closet
i am thinking of going 12/12 from the start with em but idk

Ya man I feel ya. I have a job were I'm in the car driving 90% of the time and tonight I caught myself just drifting off to thinking about growing so many times. I mean I passed my destanation like 4 different times tonight. I was like god damn it I just wish I could stop thinking about this. I just keep thinking about how I was going to put the lights up in there.
