My Correspondence With JG Wentworth

I've always wondered how badly they hose people so last year I found out. These are the actual emails, uncorrected for spelling errors. I did not respond too much. She was a persistent little bugger. Must work on commission. Bryon is not my real name, nor is Byron, which she kept calling me.

HeyByron- Was hoping to reach you- I only would need about 5 min of your time. I saw that you completed some info on our website- curious what it was you were looking into. Were you interested in getting money from a structured settlement or annuity of yours? Were you simply looking for financial assistance? I can help or at least point you in the right direction! Feel free to reply, email works for me if it works for you.

* If this does not apply to you and you have no interest, let me know I’ll take you off the contact list.

Talk to you soon I hope!

Jenna

Hello Jenna,

Thank you for your reply. I do not use my phone and prefer email. I do have an insurance settlement, payment terms are $1233.64/mo for 15 years. What can you do with that? Please and thank you.

Byron Hi! Great to hear from you. Email works for me if it works for you. I have a few quick questions to ask first before I can get a quote together for you!

Were you looking to sell all of the payments or only a portion of the monthly pays?

Do you know the exact date in which these pays end?

Who is the insurance company making these payments?

Was this structured settlement from a personal injury lawsuit?

Not too many questions right? haha I’ll be here- for about another hour so if you can get back- I’ll get #’s together for you!

Best.

Jenna

I think the last payment is December 2029. Yes, the payments were to help with a problem requiring medical care for a long time. Allstate, and yes, selling all future payments. Thanks.

Nov 4

So I can put these into the time value system- I have to choose an exact date. Do the pays come on the 1st of the month or on the day of your birthday? One more thing- What state and county do you live in? There are certain rules we must follow per state and county- that’s why I ask. Once I get this info I’ll put together a quote I feel confident in!

Thanks so much!

Alright Perect.

I put 2 offers together for you.

$110,000.00 = $1233.64/m * 179 ending Dec 1 2029 (buyout option)

$62,000.00 = $733.64/m * 179 ending Dec 1 2029 (leaving you with $500/m)

How quickly would you need to get started?

I can stay in the office later if you need me too. I’d hate to miss you if you had questions or concerns.

Were you going to think about the offers overnight? Did you want me to try to set something up for you now?

I’m here for you- so tell me what you’d like me to do and I’m on it!

Good Morning! So good to hear from you- you had me worried I may have said something wrong.

The process takes 4-6 weeks. I work quickly and can promise I’d do all I could to complete this as soon as possible for you. In the meantime, during the 4-6 weeks I can offer you a cash advance, just a smaller lump sum to hold you over until you get the larger lump sum. The process can start as early as today. You let me know what you want to do and when you want to start and I’ll be here ready! J

Looking forward to talking to you in a bit!

Jenna

If you can provide me with your address- I can send something out to you.

Let me know!

Was thinking I could send you documents to review for over the weekend. Like I mentioned previously all I need is your address to get something out to you. Is this something you could get back to me with ?

Thanks Byron!

Hello Jenna,

This is Stephanie *******, Bryon's wife. He was so excited about your offer he had a heart attack. He is still alive and the doctors said he should be fine, but I have a problem with your communication with my husband. Your tone and "cuteness" is not lost on me. Were you hoping to help him out of his money once you cut his future payments in half for your gain? a win win for you? I've seen your kind. Has he talked to you on the phone? I saw you have called him numerous times. What are your intentions, missy?

Is this a prank? If so- please just let me know so we can stop wasting each other’s time. All phone conversations, emails and texts are recorded. I would never do anything to jeopardize my job, so I can stand by the fact that I am always 100% professional. The offer we made is an extremely aggressive offer. Please let me know if this is a prank or not. If not- I am happy to proceed to get you the funds- I again will need a mailing address.

Thank you,

Jenna

JGW is the leading company in this industry. We offer the most money for future pays.

Did you get a higher quote? If that’s the case—let me know and I’ll present the other offer to my VP and we can get you a counteroffer approved. If you’re not interested just let me know- I don’t want to keep asking about this if you have no interest. Happy Friday!

Hello Jenna,

Pheeew! I guess you know I had a little heart attack. Today is the first day I have checked my email. I saw that my wife got a little crazy with you. She is crazy and part of the reason I want to cash out is so I can move on without her. She has given me four heart attacks and I don't need it. If I take the money now she can get half so I need to be smart about it. I might tell her I changed my mind.

You ever feel like you need a change?

Nov 26

Bryon – I hope all is well. I’m just doing an end of the month follow up for certain customers to see how their experience with JG Wentworth is going. I noticed that we emailed you an offer on November 4th but we never heard back from you.

I reviewed the numbers myself and if JG Wentworth purchased $1,233.64 per month beginning in March 2015 until December 2029, we can provide you with a net lump sum of $112,000 in 4-5 weeks.

If you do not need this much money, we could purchase less years. Here’s an example: If JG Wentworth purchased only five years of your full monthly payment ($1,233.64 beginning in March 2015 until February 2020), we can provide you with a net lump sum for $47,000 in 4-5 weeks. Your payments would resume from Allstate in March of 2020.

Please let me know if you have any interest in this and we can discuss this further.

Fucking hilarious. That must have been a really shitty month quota-wise for her, all of her correspondence just smacked of desperation (and sloppiness). I worked on straight commission for years mostly in timeshare (sell or die, abc), and I never sounded like that. Make a strong pitch, do your takeaway (our offer expires on x, future offers will be noticeably less), and one strong follow up. That's it, on to the next. Maybe she got a visit from Baldwin, that'd shake anyone up...

I like how they didn;t even blink when I said it was for necessary medical care. WTF do they think I'm going to do for the medical care when the money is gone? This place is fucked. 'Murica is every man for himself now.

Literally know Zilch about "J G Wentworth". May have seen a commercial once?

But there's some funny stuff out there in cyberspace...
