Feel free to make fun of my horrible handwriting.
I recently eliminated molasses from my recipe and have decided to use flora nectar instead which is designed for hydro systems. I don't know that there is any problem with molasses, but I had an issue with a few plants in one of my veg tents and thought it may have been attributed to that. It was actually light bleaching from my LED lights. I may begin using molasses again at the next feeding at 1tsp/ gallon earth juice high brix. With molasses I diluted my final mix down to a max of 950 PPM. Molasses is infinitely cheaper than flora nectar, so I'm hoping to report back with a definitive answer on it's efficacy in hempy buckets within the next 2 weeks.

Here is a picture of the ladies loving the mix with molasses included.

I ate a lotta paint chips as a kid, my momma's been on Jerry Springer, and I'm from Missouri. All things considered it ain't bad. Don't judge me :)
Do you have any country music songs written about you? The only thing I don't see listed is a dog that ran away/died ;)

Ever see Deliverance? Remember that banjo strumming song at the beginning? Born in '84 well after that movie was made, but I'm pretty certain that tune was made for the people of my home town.

I've seen David at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa
Furthest south I ever been was Memphis, Tennessee. Had a blast. Dirty city. Dirty state. The thought of ever seeing something as disgustingly far south as Louisiana or Florida with their heat, humidity, and inbred retarded citizens is what wakes me up from a dead sleep at night in a cold sweat. What I'm trying to say is I'm sorry you had to see Tulsa. That's rough.

i did my check-out scuba dive in Lake Jocassee, the lake they were "creating" in that movie. The cemetery was a cool spot to dive on.
I had to look it up to see some pictures. Wow! That is an incredibly beautiful place. Man must see something like that once in awhile to remind one's self that the whole world is not a bucket. I'm a little jealous right now. Not gonna lie :)

This is how us Missouri rednecks handle summer heat. Cliff jumping in a muddy watering hole all day whilst getting shit-faced drunk. Use to tie a cooler to a raft full of whatever cheap light beer 30 pack we could get, a 6 pack of red bull, and a bottle of jagermeister. We weren't exactly the most sophisticated of people, but goddammit we had some fun :)

At 1:16 they go to the 60' cliff jumpers. Yeah, we're not the smartest people either.

Why are you adding sugar to a sterile rez?
I'm working on answering that question myself. I added flora nectar to my water to waste buckets at the 2nd or 3rd week of flower and continued through harvest. The flowers were more dense and resinous than the previous run with the same strains and fertilizer. It was a noticeable difference. The only alteration was the addition of the flora nectar. Molasses contains a host of micro nutrients that are good for the plant. I don't run a recirculating system or anything like that. It's just a hempy bucket. They seem to take both the molasses and flora nectar without issue. That's with a grain of salt though. I switched to straight molasses @ 1tsp/gallon (should have been 1/2 tsp for mild application according to directions) for the last 2 weeks of flower. When I went to clean the buckets I noticed a foul odor coming from the root zone. No harm to the plant, but clearly something was growing in the reservoir that shouldn't be.

I will no longer use straight molasses. I will experiment with the 1 gallon of flora nectar I bought. I'll run it all the way through my next cycle in my nurseries and flower room. If there is any noticeable benefit in growth or resin production I will continue. If there is not I will never use it or any other sugar product again in my hempy buckets.

As a side note, I may be switching my entire garden back to dirt. I miss the flavor. I can grow great pot in hydro, but I'm not kidding myself. There's just no comparison to dirt. Truth be told I can't really remember why I switched. I think I read a forum on hempy buckets and got all excited. Down the rabbit hole I went. Maybe it's time to crawl out of that hole, and go play in the dirt again? I will be running 3-4 dirt plants in my nursery when I do the next transplant from 16 oz cups to get my routine refined again. It's been awhile, so I don't want to switch the whole thing over and fuck myself if I screw something up. And I do love to screw things up :)

Those are some healthy looking ladies in the DWC. Look at that lush growth on the left. Gorgeous plant! Out of curiosity, why do you not use the entire mega crop line? I am tempted to switch when my GH maxi line runs out. At nearly half the price it certainly looks appealing. I like that they have calcium and magnesium available in one product as a dry formula.

Do you notice your soil flower tastes better with more flavor than your hydro? I'm getting an itchy trigger finger to switch my garden back to dirt. I miss the flavor sensation. Even when I massacred and fucked a bunch blue dream plants to hell including a nasty spider mite infestation those soil plants still produced the best pot I've ever smoked in my life. GH 3 part flora series with floralicious. I did a very light fertilizer regimen. Feed @ 750PPM followed by 2 plan water cycles, and then another feed @ 750PPM. It amounted to fertilizer applied once a week. I stopped giving all fertilizer and supplied plain water for the last 10 days. Every one of my soil grows produced flavorful potent flowers.

I can still produce very potent flower in hydro and even good tasting, but if I grew the same strains in soil the difference in flavor and overall satisfaction would be remarkably different. I suppose I'm just waiting for another grower to confirm what I already know from personal experience. Soil grows better tasting pot. Also, a little food for thought. When I bought my house 2 years ago I started 12 plants in soil. Roots organic dirt and roots organic fertilizer. It was the only time I ever produced a failed grow. I barely had 7 ounces of terrible pot to smoke. Long story short, organic fertilizer did not produce a better result for me in dirt which leads me to believe an element is an element. As far as it affects flavor the plant doesn't care if it's a synthetic or organic derived element. I will say I was working 55 hours a week and did not have the time to properly tend the garden, and failure resulted. I had bugs, I had deficiencies, and it was a total embarassment. So embarassing that I didn't even take pictures the entire cycle. Dirt seems to be the magic ingredient that changes how the plant grows that affects flavor quality the most. I could care less if it's organic. I just want it to be safe, potent, and very flavorful.

Sorry for the long rant. I've had 4 expresso's today :)

To me, I think Mega Crop has to much N+K. I figured I'd try the best of both worlds balancing it out with a Lucas Formula solution.
@TintEastwood helped me run the numbers and I liked how they looked.

As far as soil goes, it makes sense to me that it would taste better. I used it my first grow only though, so I'm no expert.
I just got tired of the watering process and, well getting dirty. :)

My hempy system is fully automated. Feed and drainage all take care of themselves all the way to the sewer line. All I have to do is mix my rez up every now and again.

To me, that's priceless. And, if I can make the weed strong enough, maybe I'll be too baked to notice a taste difference. :eyesmoke:

Edit...the ones I have in dirt now are just for me to play around with learning my new cloner. No plans to flower them out.
