My current set-up, plan for the future, and I need help deciding between HPS/MH

The plan so far...

Hey everyone I'm about finished with my first grow here. I've used two 5 gallon pots filled with soil in my closet with four 42 watt cfls hanging above eight GHS white widows. Kind of crappy but I don't have the money to upgrade yet...

For the next grow I have taken 20 clones in a cloning tray (72 capacity) with a Mondi lid (one died :[) so 19. I'm going to purchase an AreoFlo2 - 18 plant hydro system, one 1000 watt HPS or MH lamp (I need help deciding cuz I will only buy one), a CO2 boost bucket, and maybe "The Dark Room".

After that I'm getting a "Roto-Gro", tissue culture cloning kit, co2 tank/reg, and I'll upgrade "The Dark Room" size.

For the 4th harvest I'll just invest in more Roto-Gros and etc.

Good plan assuming all goes well?

I got the this plan from Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook. Freakin awesome book.

if you can only afford to buy one then HPS is the way. i suggest you skip CO2 for now, the bucket way doesnt work. vent your room well with sufficient exhaust and do the upgrade to 1000w if you can do that you will get something incomparable with this crap cfl grow you had. aircooled light is the way. dehumidifier will be good when buds are big... tissue culture??? really??? this has gone commercial? or you only like to experiment?:) cuz you said budget is tight. have you invested in genetics?

Yeah, I read in my Ed Rosenthal book that tissue culture is commercial now.

Check it out.

So if not the bucket for CO2 then what?

I can't wait to clone with little jars! :blsmoke:

HI
Run far, run fast, and listen very closely to your money say' please, please dad. DO not send me out to buy the CO2 bucket! Get a tank and a regulator. That will do it all for yea. But really that is getting expensive. I would invest in a way to get fresh air in and have a good filter pulling air out!!! That will do the trick :) But buy another 1000HPS bulb. With the best hortilux bulb on the market! You will be happy. More than the CO2 you will generate. Hey, good luck tho, hope it all goes well.
Remember tissue culture does take alot of time. I have a bud who preserved outdoor strains with it.
BUY HPS! :) BUY HPS :)

I wouldn't bother spending anything on CO2, put more money into lights if you must spend it, but co2 won't help you if you haven't dialed in the plant and removed pretty much every possible bottleneck. It's a pretty big investment to find your plants won't grow any faster because you lack experience :)

sounds like a good point made by gobbly. I dont read a lot of common sense on these forums but that struck me.

yeah you have a point I think fans will circulate the air enough to get a good amount of fresh CO2 to them for the second grow but definitely once I have a roto I'd like to have a co2 supplement.
