Well without a counter tie you better be making sure it doesn't uproot... If your wondering what I mean by counter tie then I'll tell ya

.. For a counter tie you want to tie right above the first node then to the side, as you tie it to the side make sure the stem is vertical till first node.. If its not uprooting or damaging anything you should be ok, its just best to run a counter tie just to be on the safe side.. Plus it helps get the plant 100% horizontal without uprooting

As you see the 2 strings to the left that are side by side thats where my counter tie is. Then the top is tied and its 100% horizontal
