I like to be about 3 inches away with a cfl. how close do you go? I don't ever use cfls anymore tho since I got my room I have my big T5 for starting plants

ya cfls can burn, last grow(first grow) i had to leave town for five days i tied my babies down watered hard and left during flowering, came back and one of my buds was burned. lost 1/3 of a main bud. keep them 2-4 inches away and don't leave town. keeping them much shorter this time
hate to disagree but i donr it myself
it isnt heat from bulb it is too intense of light

I just haven't done it yet... I have only grown 3 plants under cfl. and I spend more time with my plants then I have a social life... I'm depressed being in NC so far away from the only girls that don't lie when they say they love me.
man that suxs

but i grow in a diferent state thne where i live

FAB you must live along a border 
to have a grow in a different state. and budist i leave it roughly 4-6" for the big ones the get a bit hotter. but i didnt look for like a day cause of the light on time since its now in flower was on at 8 and i was gone till 12. but it grew so fast so thats why it touched . its only on like 1 set of leaves so its not bad at all if thats what it even is . but other then that shes all good.

Not to be a dick or a smart ass, just curious really. But if you grow across state lines (hypothetically!) and even if you transported materials (that would otherwise be legal), across state lines with the plan to grow with those materials, couldn't you (hypothetically!) open yourself up to a federal interstate conspiracy-esque charge?

I believe he has like 400 watts of cfl plus over 100w t5 ho for side lighting on one plant but you didn't put a lot of thought into your comment in my opinion.

Yea maybe I was a being a dick LOL but its ill informed comments like that that get to me. If your going to tell a guy hes doing something wrong you should at least find out what he is doing first before you say somethings wrong with it. Info was on the first page. I hate when I see a post titled Help with watts and pot size and the thread says something like I'm growing 2 60 day autos and want the get a pretty good yield and some guy just mindlessly throws up 5 gallon pots 1000w hps with air cooled hood. He'd end up with a bunch of wasted energy and soil that wont dry.
i understand but maybe he was reading it got distracted and missed that part or just is real high
even i have done it before lol and sometimes when i see a thread asking something i see something else that is wrong i speak up even had guys all pissed one time as it wasnt the answer to ? guy asked
i dont care if i see something wrong im going to say it
it would be a shame and a disservice to the guy if i didnt

Ya I got 8x34w t5, and 5x54w cfls with a few 23w cfl so I think for one plant that's more then enough and it getting light from all over
