My first ever grow - about time I posted some pics.

Hi everyone,

Ive been on here for a while now, mainly posting in the auto flower resource thread. Ive got 3 auto ak'47's from Lowlife seeds growing in canna terra pro soil, under a 400w dual spectrum hps. Currently on day 41 from sprout, day 43 from seed. Thought it was about time I posted some pictures, and contributed to the forum. Im happy to answer any questions, so feel free to ask.

This strain really is impressive, buds fitted in to every available space that gets light. Here's one right at the base of the plant.


Have to say im really enjoying watching the ladies grow, and learning more about the magical herb ive enjoyed for so long.

The light is just over 8 inches from the plants. It is the fan blowing on the lamp which allows me to get it that close.

dam 8 inches away, i have mine at like 2 feet. do think thats too far? maybe i should move it like a foot away instead.

congrats on the ladies they look very nice. and chemdog, put your hand directly under your lamp. then move it down till it is no longer burning your hand. this is how close you can safely put your plants to the light. the more air blowing heat away from the bulb the less heat will be felt directly underneath.

Yeah, way too far. Follow the advice given by 'Total Head', get yourself a fan blowing directly on the lamp and you should be able to move it much closer. Another option, if your grow area has an extractor fan is to get an air cooled hood. These have a glass screen under the lamp, and draw air across the lamp as it is extracted. Havn't used one myself (yet), but using one of them you can get the light right up to the plants.

thanks for the advice guys, i do have a air cooled hood. this is what i have http://www.igrowhydro.com/detail.aspx?ID=3193. i have an 80 cfm exhaust hooked up to it right now and i think its a little weak for my grow space. but yea ill drop it down a foot before dark time today. thanks guys

You should be able to get it to within about 6 inches with that id say, providing the fan is pulling enough air over it to keep it cool. And no worries, always glad to help

Looking good Bigby, and nice pics! I love your macro shot in pic 3-- those trichomes look great. Oh, and I like your reference for there size in pic 5!

Ha ha, thanks man - I love that trich pic too, took the pics for my own benefit then decided to share when they came out so good. And yeah, thought the size reference item was pretty apt

As for nutes - im using mollases and Biobizz Bio-Bloom and alternating them, one water with nutes then one with mollases.

nice grow sir, cant wait to see the end results, my ak47 seeds didnt germinate ;-( but i will buy some more on my next grow as these look good

Didn't germinate? Wow, that sucks. Gutted for you dude. Which seedbank was it? I got five seeds, 4 germinated, but one turned out to be a runt so I ditched it.
