Yup. This type of training will allow your bottom branches to catch more light and grow up where the main cola is giving u multiple tops without having to actually top the plant. It's a less aggressive way to get a bushy plant with multiple tips rather than a tall, lanky one with one main and sum side branching

Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Saying that, is there a better way? I was going to setup a scrog netting up soon once it branches to the side like that.

Only other way I know is topping which has great results for me BUUT there is a little bit of a stunt in growth for healing. During that time of healing, the lower branches sometimes catch up to the 2 new tops you'll get from topping . Then there's fimming .fimming is basically topping but u didnt cut everything and new tops sometimes grow out of those areas kinda like this20200328_120213.jpg

Also topped everything in my veg tent about a week and a half to 2 weeks ago.
6 of these plants have multiple tops ranging from 2 main colas to 4. That 4 will turn Into 8 with another topping and the side branching from that will give u plenty of new bud sites. Sorry if im confusing you. I try to share my growing knowledge as much as I can

Last pic . Plant to the right in the back is a perfect example of how u can get 4 tops from topping once. Hope u can see how those absolute bottom branches got long and are up top now

Dont mean to be repetitive but took this pic a second ago in veg tent. Topped once. 8 tops

And a side profile sobu can see the structure. Another reason I like topping. I like how it's all uniform and even for the most part. No one top getting to ahead of the others

That looks awesome and you're knowledge is appreciated.

Would you know of any tutorials that would show me how to 'top' as I don't really care about growth stunt as I'm in no real rush.

I like how yours look, great job!

Ideally, you want to open her up from the centre, allowing inner Bud sites plenty of light and air movement, persuading the outer cola branches to grow outward from centre. An example of mine in veg. The idea is to create many tops ...good luck.
