My first grow ever! Sweet Cheese, DWC 3x3x7

Hi guys, it's been a good couple months growing. I've lost two young clones, set me back two weeks.) they started in soil, I didn't know it was a rough start to transplant to hydro).

Currently I have two sweet cheese ladies growing in a 3x3x7 grow tent. I'm running two 5 gallon bucket DWC, with a couple air stones each. My nutrients:

Veg: Ionic grow + cyco silica + special brewed EWC myco tea + RO water + city water

Flower= Ionic Bloom + Ionic PK boost + Heavy16 Heavy Fire + CALiMAGic + EWC Tea + RO water

My I have an intake fan at 190cfms and an exhaust variable speed up to 450cfm

I have a 250 watt ballast on loan from a friend and tomorrow night I'll be putting in a 1000wat digital ballast (set to 50 or 75%) for the rest of flower.

Just thought I'd post up for the rest of the grow seeing as I didnt fuck anything up yet.

Here's the ride home from day one, you can see they're clones cut from an early flowering plant

Had to jimmy rig a humidity chamber because they didn't even have roots when I planted them in their buckets (beginner mistake, but this worked)image.jpg

They grew alright after this, I topped the one on the left, and trained it really hard. I let the one onthe right grow tall (just experimenting). Made a nice canopy on the left after a while. image.jpgimage.jpg now we're in flower, and here I am. This was yesterday

And here's today

Tips? Thoughts? Thanks!

Day 17 flower
Got the new lights installed yesterday. It runs a bit hot if I leave it at 600w, so I keep it at 75% and I'm able to maintain about 74f and a reasonable rh.
Smells real nice about now

Today the oscillating fan I had for the top of the canopy fell on one of my two plants, but it's so tough it just ripped two small branches off the bottom, the rest is just bent over a bit. image.jpgimage.jpg

Plants still look great, will post pics before lights out.
Also fast drying these puppies now, will post smokability results as well.

Looking pretty good, whatever your doing seems to be working so I wouldn't try changing anything.

Also like how you ran a little mini experiment at the same time. Though from the pics it looks like she stretched up pretty good anyways.

Yeah I was pretty surprised, at first I thought there might be a bit of a height difference, but she stretched up nice. My next grow is just gonna be one big scrog I think, I could have better utilized my space I think

That one plant sure got tall. Did well for first grow being hydro, I would like to try it sometime. What day total?

Today is day 34 of flower for sweet cheese. I read the flower period is somewhere between 59 and 63 days.image.jpgCan any experienced grower give me an estimate on the yield? I just really hope I can harvest 10oz...

I don't see 10 ounces here but no worries. Keep at it. Your technique is pretty advanced for a first grow. Learn from your first grow and keep learning and things will improve. I see a lot of wasted space for starters.

I totally agree. I was too scared to try a scrog on my first try but honestly I would have been better off.
My next plan is for 1 plant grown from seed (these were cuttings from a plant in flower, which was bogus) and I'm gonna scrog it, and use two reservoirs. Or I'm thinking about switching to a different hydroponic method, the EM Air compressor is just so loud. also I'm gonna try putting my exhaust filter outside of my tent, just air cooling the bulb and supplementing co2 to my tent. There's like a million things I could do better next time haha :) here's some more pretty picturesimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg do you think the trichomes are pretty good for this stage?

I do. The quality is there and that's the hardest point. Now just work on maximizing your space, your lights, etc.

So these pics are from Saturday the 24th (yesterday) and it seems like growth has sort of stalled. I can't tell if they're filling in any more. Trichomes just don't stop coming though, holy smokes. And the pistils are coloring in nicely.

Here's Day 43 of 64

Here's some of the bud on the walls that droops over from the weight :(

Wish I had more space!

The way I tell if they are filling up more is just to take pictures often and compare say Monday with Wednesday with Friday and see how much you can notice.

Everyone wishes they had more space lol, I know I do.

Nice grow very good for your first time I like seeing others doing they're homework ;).

I would say for how much your plants stretched scrog would have helped you yield a lot more. Definitely go with the scrog next run

Yeah plus I'll be using 600w metal halides for veg instead, just didn't have the money from the get go. Also learned that you can't go too far above the wattage of the lights you started with. I've had a verrry slow light burn on only my top leaves after switching from 250w to 600w. I vary the dimming all day, I try to let them cool a bit before bedtime. Not sure if it helps.

But the trichomes are coming in nicely! Here's some pretty pictures. Will document growth later tonight before lights outimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Anyone know why I don't have to ph my water any more? I phd it once last week when I did my last res change, got it down to 5.8 and since then I havent had to add any ph up or down. It's been like that most of the way through flower. I do not ph my RO water, and when I refill (which is 1~1.5gal per day) it stays the same. I'm not complaining, just curious. Wondering if it has to do with the constant presence of mycorrhizae that I suppliment pretty frequently. Water stays pretty clear except for the organic additives.

Here's tues and Wednesday, looking for any changes in growth. Hard to tell, just not as explosive as before.. But I'm entering the last two weeks now, which I hear is great. Let's see. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
