My First Grow ever!!

So, this is my first grow outdoors.

Learned a ton from this forum....been reading and studying for quite some time behind the scenes. posted a while back with a little Bubbleponic grow i tried.

These are my 4 babies. They are all Purple Power Plant. the tallest is over 5 ft tall.flowering.jpgnot flowering.jpg

The two "leafier" and heartier looking ones are obviously in an area that has been getting more sun. They are still not in the flowering stage yet. Worries me as I am in Ontario and I really hope they will have enough time to flower once they start.

The other two are flowering and appear to be doing pretty well.

I am very impressed with the heartiness of this strain. They were very easy and low maintenance. I didn't do much ground prep at all. I brought in a few bags of soil. and that's it. Recently I've been trekking in 5 gallon containers of Miracle Grow Bloom/water mix. I really haven't done much to these. Next year I plan on being a more attentive daddy to my babies. Gonna start by prepping the soil this fall when I harvest.

anybody have any pointers or predictions on my girls who haven't started flowering yet. If they were not located in the middle of nowhere 45 min away....i would cover and uncover to force flowering...alas...i cannot.

Anybody have a good recipe for preparing the ground for a new grow.

and also...i have no idea about yield on these plants....can anyone give me an idea on that?

thanks....any help would be great

^^ Don't listen to this debbie downer, growing aint a contest like he makes it out to be. They look great for a first time grow, I hope you learned a lot and can make next years even better. Try using a better soil and giving them more sunlight and you may be able to multiply your yield ten fold.

listen to this person. for anyone attempting a first grow, if you are able to make it to harvest then that is more than a success imo! not only will you have some bud to reward your hard work, but you will have gained so much in terms of knowledge that next year you will be able to do great things! as with anything in life, practice makes perfect and you seem to be well on your way!

Your plants look healthy, so I think the fertilizer and soil your using is working. Go ahead and use that next year since you already have experience with them. To get bigger plants, start earlier in the season. I'm down in Southern California, so I'm lucky in that I can start in early March. Check your area's frost dates to find out when you can start. It might even be worth while to buy or build an inexpensive cold frame to give you a 1-2 month head start.
