My First Grow Room - Seed to Bud

PLANTS(flowering): 5 kush, 1 unknown strain (grown from a bud of an outdoor plant)
DAYS FLOWERING: 38
DAYS SINCE SEED: 83
LIGHTS: 600 Watt HPS
NUTES: dutch nutrient formula, 50ml per 5 gallon bottle, 5 Tablespoons of blackstrap molasses- every 3 or 4 days
ENVIRONMENT: day 27C, night 16C, humidity 30%
AIR: 1 oscilating fan, 1 double fan, 70cfm bathroom fan venting outside when light is on. Two 2.5 inch passive intakes from outside.
SOIL: Promix with 15% worm castings
POTS: 2 5-Gallon, 4, 2-gallon
TLC: lots

Buddy has 20% brown hairs so she won't be sporting a stalk for too much longer.

Here is a big kush cola. The growth has slowed for sure but the resin production should continue for a while.

I'm going to quick dry a kush nug for new years.

one more good nute watering in a couple days before just water and molasses until finishing.

subscribed, sorry for missing ure whole grow but I just read through it and those plants looked nice right from the start.
nice grow rep+

happy new years RIU!

i smoked my first sample on new years eve. I cut it a couple of days ago and let it sit in a slightly warm oven for an hour and then hung it dangling in front of a fan for a couple days.

Smooth draw, minty taste and made me high as fuck but still functioning. That was Buddy. I have yet to try the kush.

This is a mini-burger i made from freshly ground rib-eyes. Expensive but by far the best burger i will ever eat.

My grow room isn't perfect but it is good enough.

I don't tinker around too much anymore, just a nightly visit and a water every 3 or 4 days. It is a strange feeling having all growth stop and watching the plant just secrete THC.

Even though this is the good part it was so much more satisfying watching it go gangbusters everyday. The endgame is one of patience.

The clones are doing well as evidence by this before and after:

After (45 days later, rooted after 15 days):

Buddy is still under 18 inches but the Kush plants hover around 4 feet!

Fitz turned out to be a star producer. Check out her 15 inch cola!

I've heard it before and I'll say it again: "the waiting is a headfuck".

I decided to do one last nute treatment. My next watering will be a flush and then I'll wait for 75% amber hairs to harvest.

I think I will hang upside down for a few days until the twigs snap, then paper bag it for a couple weeks of curing and store in masons.

Buddy was sampled on NYE and I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe tonight will be the night when I try the Kush for the first time?? I have a sample bud hanging in front of the fan.

After harvest I will take clones from the veg plants and veg in the bloom room under 18/6 HD for a week after repotting. Then I will do some l.s.t. so i end up with more colas and more bud per square footage.

drybie out.

nice.

ok, i'm happy now. I bought the 10 kush seeds from BCseedKING (they gave me 20!) and travelled through this incredible journey on faith, hoping that the pot would rock. I've only smoked commercial stuff so I really don't know what strains I've smoked in the past. I'm very relieved with my crop's high. I'm not into the trippy crazy stuff (anymore) and wanted a pleasant buzz with a high that I can still function on. Although I like cerebral highs sometimes they can get me overly paranoid which isn't fun. I searched for a strain on the Indica side of things. The Kush from BCseedKING says "Kush is mostly indica, good for the first time growers. This plant is a big yielder with dense sticky buds covered in crystals. A pleasant, not too strong skunky smell, said to possess medicinal qualities in plenty. Great smooth taste and an excellent clearheaded high. Flowering Time: Indoor 7 - 9 weeks

The result...as billed!

The claims:

Smell? There is quite a strong smell during growing but it isn't a huge stinker when smoking. In fact it has a minty refreshing taste (which probably all homegrown done properly does).

Easy to grow? I'm a first time grower and the plant basically grew itself. A robust plant with no mysterious problems.

Big yielder? Seems like it although we'll have to wait for the weigh in. Definately covered in crystals though.

The high? The high was in fact remarkably clear-headed. Occasional bouts of dopiness but also insightful tangients. I usually smoke alone so I can't comment on how social a high it is.

It was a long lasting buzz. Still feeling lingering effects 3 hours later at which time I was cleaning the house - something I rarely do - so it wasn't an energy-sucker either.

I'm happy but I still only smoked a small bit of a lower bud 2 weeks before finish. I suspect a cola tip after curing will knock me on, over and through my ass.

Nice review of the herb. Ha. Youre good.

That'd be a nice job... a weed reviewer.. Like Siskel and Ebert....

Drybie and Curby give it 2 thumbs up.

My harvest was a bit of a bummer. First my dad died so my life was turned a bit inside out and left my plants for about 10 days. Then the power and heat went out for 24 hours in the middle of chopping, trimming and drying. I did the best I could but they didn't recieve the same kind of TLC that went into the beginning of the project.

Buddy:

Everything got pretty icy...

...but my preference was early harvest so I would have more THC than CBD - more cerebral less couch-lock high.

Buddy had a decent yield for it's size (i think):

buddy was 7.3 ounces:

The largest Kush plants yielded more but the ratio of size to yield wasn't as good:

Some tops even went purpleish:

Insane cola-age:

Fitz 10.6 ounces:

3.6 ounce cola!:

The roots looked like this (even though I don't know what it is supposed to look like):

Everything is in paper bags now. I don't like to trim too close to the bud unlike a lot of people who inho trim nugs way too tight. My finish is his start.

Buddy has a distinctive smell but ironically the Kush is almost odourless (after drying). I think they dried out a bit too much. the buds are sticky but really crispy too. Maybe I'll jar them with a lettuce leaf?

Will update again in a few days with pics of bud in jars, final weight and the second crop under the MH.

yeah shit man.. Your shit looks real nice... REAL nice.

Did yer girl take the pics of you holding it?? lol

Total weight was 50 ounces (for 6 plants immediately after chop). Everything got a bit sloppy after that so I'm not sure what the final weight ended up being. But it would have weighed light anyway since I over dried. I've put some vegetation in the jars to help with that.

I gave tons away and this is what I have left. Anyone want a jar?
