My First Grow - Sunset Sherbet

I'm late in starting this, but I realized that I want to get this all down in one place rather than having to guess at when I did what.

This is my first grow, and I'm starting with a feminized Sunset Sherbet seed from North Atlantic Seed Company.

I planted the seed March 30th, the day the state senate passed the MRTA here in New York. Starting soil was Coco Loco from Fox Farms, and the initial veg tent is a 2x2x4 with a Mars Hydro TS-600. I vegged for 18 days, then began pruning for a manifold. She went from a cell in seedling tray, to a solo cup, to the 3 gallon you see here. The second picture was taken the day before I started pruning.

When I up-potted her to the 3 gallon, I switched to Fox Farms Ocean Forest. It resulted in a bit of nitrogen toxicity, with dark green leaves and some mild clawing on the leaf tips, but nothing terrible. Nine days after starting the manifold pruning, I transplanted her to her final home, a 5 gallon grow bag with FFOF and Perlite mixed. (Approximately 4 to 1 FFOF/Perlite).

I left the lower fan leaves on initially to reduce shock to the plant, as you can see here, but those came off relatively quickly as the new growth caught up. 1620838548146.png

Thanks! I topped at the 3rd node. I am thrilled with how well she took the abuse I threw at her. I used floral wire and binder clips for training.

My plants started from seed Feb 11, 2021. I think I left them in veg state to long..I switched them to a 12/12 schedule 2 weeks ago and about to find out if male or female. I see white hairs so I think it’s female.

May 9th, 5w1d veg. Started adding 2.5ml molasses and 10 ml fish and kelp emulsion to each watering (Roughly 3 liters per watering). Also mixed 10g of dolomite lime into the top soil after getting a low ph (5.8 in the runoff and doing some more reading into FFOF. 1620839585196.png

Are you sure this is your FIRST grow?? I'm gonna have to call BS....no offense!

I can't imagine a first timer having the cohonies to bend and cut, heavy defoiliate, etc, on his first time out.....so aggressively!

Rock on Mr. "First Timer"!! Grow is looking very good!

Long time lurker, first time grower. I'm an avid gardener, and I've been researching growing cannabis for years, so I was ready to go.

You should see what I did to my apple trees. I've been a little obsessed with espalier and other types of plant sculpting forever, so I when I came across mainlining/manifolding in my research I was super excited to try it with such a fast growing plant

Thanks for the kind words, it's nice to know I'm on the right track.
