My first Grow, want opinions :)

Hi guys, i`ve been reading a lot about but still i`m not very comfortable...

I got this purple kush clone from a friend 3 days ago and transplanted her to the soil at the same moment. But my friend told me to wait a little to turn the lights on rn. What do you guys think?

I don`t have money to afford good lights but i`m doing the best i can, for the lights i bought a CFL 150watts (uses only 42 watts).foto7.jpg

For the reflective film i thought about why not those car sun shade?
i cover her with a black thin cloth to keep her in dark too foto8.jpg (lights were on just to take the pictures)

For the soil i choose Fox farm. I heard it`s really goodfoto10.jpg

So i want some opinions, am I doing something wrong?
Here are some more pictures

Everyone starts somewhere. That cfl will work fine for now (2-3 weeks veg) but you will need more light eventually especially for flower.

This kit is great for new growers. Try to find a 250watt version though.

Hid's have a much better depth of penetration compared to cfl's so remember, a 250 watt hid will yield noticeably more then a 250 watt cfl. If you dont want to deal with setting up an efficient ventilation system then just go with a high powered cfl untill you learn a bit more.

If you have heat issues then try to find a square box fan, put it under the pot but dont block the intake of the fan, it will blow the cold air up towards the light away from the plant vert style.

Thanks for the help!! I have 2 CFL, but i was thinking about starting only with one than 2 and a little later buy a better light like a 250 hps.
What do you think about turning the light on or not? look at how droop down the leaves are rn.foto1.jpg

HMMM you said in your other posting you had gotten the clone from a dispensary...here I read that it was from a friend...does your friend own or work at the dispensary?

Overwatering and slight nute burn? Maybe heat stress as well?
Yes. Fox farm is too strong for a seedling. I scoop out a cup, then replace it with top soil, no nutrients in the top soil. I plant to seed or clone in the top soil. By the time the roots pass through the top soil the plant will be strong enough to handle the fox farm. Fox farm will support your plant for a month then you'll need to add a soil based bloom formula. I start with 250ppm then add 150ppm every third time i water. And I water every 3 or 4 days. I back off adding the +150 ppm when it starts to show signs of burn. If you want to send me a message I'll be behind a desk for 8 hours tomorrow. I can share what I would do having what you have.

Do you know a good top soil?

Anything at any store like Lowe's or home depot. Just make sure it's not for growing. Even filler dirt. You could even use dirt it your back yard if you didn't have to worry about it having pests.

Have you done the knuckle test. Push your index finger in the soil to the 2nd knuckle. If you feel even the slightest hint of moisture don't water. I usually water every 3 or 4 days. One time I went 7 days. But if you have heat issues you may need to water every 2 or 3 days. I just do the knuckle test and let that decide. When in doubt, don't water

It's actually probably just overwatering, and severely. It's starting to die. Stop watering for 3 days. Still, raise the light a little bit. It'll stretch if it needs to.

What about drainage? Is the water collecting in the pot until it evaporates? Or do you have holes in the bottom so it can drain?
Put a fan on it, too. Dries faster and strengthens the limbs.
the fan is on 24/7 it`s in the picture.

about drainage, the pot already came with 4 wholes at the bottom, but i don`t see any water coming out from the whole.

about rasing the light, i red that if you put your hands for 30sec where the top leaves are and it does not hurt you it`s ok, i use a 150w (uses only 42w) CFL lights. Still i`ll raise a little

What do you mean turn them on?

Make sure the plant gets atleast 16 hours of light (20-24hrs is faster growth), and yes it could use the other cfl for now if thats what your asking.

Make sure you water only when the pot feels light. Don't worry you've got a small cfl and a small plant in a big pot, it will take quite a while to dry out. Tbh, thats some severe droop and it actually looks like underwatering which i can't see you doing so its confusing.

Do not feed NOTHING yet, just water and preferably low ppm tap water you can use r/o water also but you will need cal-mag if you want to use it more then the first couple weeks. I used to start seedlings in ffof with no issues but im too broke to be buying ffof for sprouts now days lol so im not sure if its the same.

Not sure where you live but keep the temps around 70-80

Im around Los Angeles, I meant that the light were off, because my friend told me to not turn them on for a week. Do you think i should really transplant her to a top soil with no nutrients? or just keep her in the fox farm?
And how much water should i give her? that`s a 3 gallon pot
