Those reflectors and clamps for your cfls are great. Do you have them in the stores in your neck of the woods? Or order them oonline?

I could only get 48w cfls (=240w ind.) at the hardware. So must do some shopping at ebay or whereever I think.

Like you I use reflective foil...... actually bought a few rolls of reflective wrapping paper at the Reject Shop for $2/roll.....going to move my plant from the garage to my wardrobe. Now Im divorced I only need 1/4 the space for clothes.

Those clamp on lights are from walmart and the "reflective foil" is actually emergency blankets also from walmart. You can get the lights in the hardware section and the blankets in the camping section.

The only reason you'll want a green light is to inspect your buds during the 'dark' time. The plants can't do anything with that light as far as growth goes. Of course it may be cool to look at when you're blown. bongsmilie

Everybody know's that the green light won't do anything for a plant. And even if it did i wouldn't by an incandescent. Certain day's i wont get off work until the lights are already off and i will need to feed check meters, etc...

This is def a neat thread...I just read all 34 pages and enjoyed every bit. I use both flouros and HID...and yes, the results are much better with my HID's...But I do get respectable results with flouros also. So fuck um!! Use your CFL's and stand tall and proud!!! Your plants are small and bushy and very healthy looking. I love your tinkering around to get the best results and also the interaction with the members. Thats 1st Class!!! +rep p.s. I would wait another week before 12/12 bongsmilie JMHO

Does it cause any problems switching on your lights (or even just one) for a minute or so when its dark?

My plant's shade leaves droop when in darkness, I may have the lights on checking something for no more than a minute, then off they go. Too quick to "wake" them up I think. But interested to know if Im putting any undue stress on them.

I'm not 100% sure on whether or not it can cause problems, but I'd try to avoid it as much as possible. I mean there is a reason you want your room 100% sealed to light. The green light Idea came from Jorge Cervantes, one of the grow dvds. I don't leave mine on, I only plug it in and power it on when I need to do something in their dark time...If you could go this same route that me and Dr.Chronic have gone, you would get rid of even the chance of slight light causing a problem .. but then again thats just my 2 cents :)

Dr.. Everything's looking great budd !! You'll like the green light it makes shit easy to do at night, just make sure the rest of your room is dark as well, dont' want any pesky light getting in !! Can't wait for you to start flowering man, you'll be so content and excited with the growth in the first few days !!

Keep it up :bigjoint:

yes you are stressing them.

i still don't fully believe the 'green light' theorey, and as a result don't use it, but if you insist on looking at your plants while they are sleeping, use a green light..

You aren't stressing the plant, photosynthesis uses light to create energy for the plant. It uses RED and GREEN light. All green light get's reflected by the chlorophyll in the plant meaning it does NOT AFFECT/STRESS/WAKEUP the plant. It is practically invisible to the light.
