My first grow

My plants at are at day 20 since starting germination

Setup for veg: Sun Systems 315W Lec, AC Infinity 8 in inline fan, AC Infinity 8 in. Carbon Filter, Topo Grow 8x4 tent, 2x Humidifier.
5 gal fabric pots, FFOF soil, CalMag, and Great White

6 of the plants I began germination 20 days ago, 4 others a few days later. on the second set only 3 germinated. Last night I decided to scrap 2 of the plants one was just very weak and the other from the very beginning was shriveled up and very slow growth. Out of fear it might have been a pest I threw it out and today I borrowed a 30x pocket scope to check out the other plants and all seemed fine. Later this week I will be picking up a much stronger USB microscope to double check for possible pests that are smaller. tomorrow I will be topping 5 of the plants and transplanting the other two to 5 gal pots. So here they are just figured I would post them and see what you guys think and see if anyone had any advice to offer

also the second picture has a close up of one of the plants I was worried about, some of the leaves have a slight discoloration on a few spots and the third picture is the plant that I was thinking suffered from Nutrient burn, but all the new growth has seemed fine. before I transfer to 5 gal fabric pots, they were in 6 in peat pots with a 50/50 mix of FFHF and FFOF

awesome, looks great... yeah I was torn between 3 and 5 gallon pots. have you done any LST or topping, if so when did you perfom it?

Yeah we will see. One thing that did help was I got some advice on here to start feeding. Prior to the transplant I didn’t feed much. Since I have been feeding at 1/2 recommended strength every other watering. Seemed to make a difference... I’m no where experienced enough to give advice so take that for what it’s worth.

what soil are you using? I am using the Fox Farms Ocean Forrest, I guess its loaded with a decent amount of nutrients and have been told not to feed for about 3-4 weeks after transplanting. I think that's what caused the nutrient burn on one of my seedlings. Although I have read to check the run offs PPM to better gauge feeding. Also what kind of Nutrients are you using and do you use any Mycorrhizae?

I FIM'd with my current grow. I still only had the one cola afterward, but it still broke the apical dominance a bit to make a more bushy plant. After a few more nodes, I topped it as well. Between those two HSTs, it gave me four nice even colas with more coming in behind them. Not as good as a canopy, but better than one apex.

Even if you miss with a FIM, it still "works." Both your grows are looking awesome.

Runoff ppms are not useful info in soil really. I wouldn't even be watering to runoff at this stage.
In organic I rarely have much runoff at all. They do become more relevant in inert media when using nutes.

really!Thank you for telling me that, I have only water one time to runoff and that was just a little runoff when they were in the 6 in pots. I was about to water to run off today in their 5 gal pots today, but I have been so leery about over watering. As far as the FFOF I am not to worried about feeding until 3 weeks after transplant. Except for Cal Mag I have been doing every other watering and a few times I mix in Great White with the watering. But I hear mixed thing about adding Great White when watering. I do sprinkle in Great White when I transplant... I am currently watering about 3/4 LTR and figured would bump it up 1/4 LTR as they grow.

What strain are you guys currently growing or grown in the past that you would recommended and any seed banks you guys have had exceptional experience with? I am running White Widow and Zkitttlez both Feminized, from Nirvana seeds. They arrived fairly quick and so far a 9/10 germination.

I’m using Mother Earth coco and fox farm bb/gb. Seems to be working... I also have the sledgehammer for flush when the time comes. And I’ll be totally honest I don’t even know wtf mycorrhizae is.

I was cheap and found the cheapest seeds online. I used premium seed market. Blue dream and purple Buddha. They went 12/12 and seem strong. Only problem is they aren’t feminized. So I will have to pick through and identify females. I hope to only end up with 6 females. A grow shop popped up nearby me so I will be getting my seed there. What do you have for lights?

I really struggled with that decision, between LED and CMH. At the end of the day I went with CMH and the temp is not that bad, but then again its at its lowest point of winter right now. but 2x315w Sun System CMHs, I have an 8x4 so I will be needing to pick up something to fill in the gap come flower so been researching an LED to put in there. Been checking out the Mars Hydro TS 3000 or the Spider Farmer SF 4000, although I could also go with the model a size down from those as well. In the CMH I am running the Phillips 4200. The CMH seem to be doing great, the lights are adjustable and running at 80% and slowly turning up as they grow. I believe its recommended to use the 3100 bulbs in veg, 4200 in flower (but can be used for both veg and flower), then they have the 10k buld they say is great for the last two weeks of flower. From what I have read some people just run the 4200 through the whole grow.

Nirvana had a great deal, first order using Crypto they doubled my order. So got 20 seeds for about $75.00. But I am about to put an order in for my second grow... That way when the time comes I am not waiting on the shipment. Looking at Runtz Muffin, Glookie, or Purple Lamborghini. been looking at the site Attitude seed bank.

If price is any concern check out the sonofarm stuff over the spiderfarmer, I’m running a spider farmer sf4000 and a sonofarm pro series 2000. I wish I would have discovered sonofarm before I ordered the spider farmer.

I will for sure! is the SonoFarm adjustable? The only thing I was really worried about with adding that big of a light in there is I was worried 2x315w and something as large as the SF4000 might be to much light. but I figured if it adjustable I can just bring it down a bit. Figured the extra light would probably help with canopy penetration and help some of the lower hanging buds! Oh also the say the Mychorrhizae is really good for boosting the growth of roots and is recommended during transplant. They got several different brands the two most popular ones that I have seen are Mykos and Great White.

Yeah the sonofarm is dimmable, pretty much the same light as the spider farmer. It may have a few less diodes. But they have the same drivers and diodes spider farmer uses.
