My First Grow

Hi, high guys, lol

Well brief introduction to myself and my scenario this is my first grow ever i started from seed and it has been exactly to weeks since i germinated them. I am as proud as a new father lol. I am relatively young and this has been something I have been wanting to do since i was a like 13. My current set up was completely based on an idea i came across on the internet using to bins stacked on top of one and other with a light fixture on top with a 42W Twister Compact Fluorescent bulb and a pc fan. I have 6 plants out of my 8 seeds however I am not 100% sure at the moment whether or not they are all females, I dont really mind if even only one of them were female I am not as much interested about the yield of the plant as much as actually being able to do something I have dream of doing for years and producing something as beautiful as a fully grown marijuana plant. Now since this is my first grow I am very unfamiliar with many things especially with things along the lines of monitoring Ph levels in the soil and such i have been told that things like that are not that relevant as long as I am taking Proper care of the plant currently, I am watering the plant ever 2-3 days depending on how the look and I have just purchased plant food but before putting anything like that in I would check with you hydroponic doctors on the internet, as well as post some pics of my little babies.

I apologize about picture quality i took them on my cellular and I am not exactly the worlds most gifted photographer lol.

But here are my questions.
Are my plants health and up to speed size wise?
Should I put this plant food in?
When are you able to determine the gender of a plant? (and if it is now and can be done through the photos please let me now)

Thanks guys.:weed:

Hi, high guys, lol

You will not know if they are females until you sex the plants. Meaning you change the light cycle to 12/12

I dont really mind if even only one of them were female I am not as much interested about the yield of the plant as much as actually being able to do something I have dream of doing for years and producing something as beautiful as a fully grown marijuana plant. Not true PH is very important, and does affect the plant. Get your self a ph tester and adjust accordingly

I am watering the plant ever 2-3 days depending on how the look and I have just purchased plant food but before putting anything like that in I would check with you hydroponic doctors on the internet, as well as post some pics of my little babies.

Just my opinion. They are stretching too much. You need to bring the light closer, and definitely give them more light than you are giving now.

Should I put this plant food in?

I would hold of on the plant food. Plus you need to give more information, especially what type of soil you are using.

When are you able to determine the gender of a plant?

That questions was already amswered.

(and if it is now and can be done through the photos please let me now)

No you can't tell by the pictures

Final note. A desire to grow is understandable, but can not approached as "just want to see if I can do it" If you are serious and really want to see if you can do it, then do it right.

Lights - As much as you can use 6500K for veg. 2700k for flowering

Water must have the correct PH 6.0 - 7.0

Soil - you will get many opinions on this, but I believe it depends on what is available to you and what your budget is. I started with miracle grow

Pot size - you can start small and always transfer to larger pots later. However pot size determines how big your plant will get. Also depends on your grow space

Temperature - 70-85 is ideal, you will also need a fan to build stem strength

Ventilation if growing indoors - plants need fresh air and good ventilation will provide this plus help keep temps under control

Those are what i believe to be the basics. I am sure there are many who can offer much more advice, and there is an abundance of information here

Hope this helps

what kind of intake/ventilation set up do you have. That plays an important role as well...plants need fresh air.
