My First Grow

Cajun, im about to attempt building a replica of your grow box (not a chance mine will be as sweet as yours, but we'll see). I was thinking about doing a scrog instead of lst. Could this work in that space? I'm thinking it might be too hard to get everything taken care of with such a small space to work with (with scrog technique). Thoughts?

I also thought of scrog but didn't want to take on too much my first grow. In my opinion it would be hard to get everything in there with screens. You would definitely need a screen for each plant so you can take them out for inspecting, pruning and watering. You could maybe just put a small piece of screen on top of each pot. I would go with two plants instead of three if attempting this. Good luck if you decide to try it!

by looking at the pics in ur 1st post, it looked at tho' the top rubbermaid container housed the fan, lights, pretty much all the electric componets. well my question is, ive been reading alot about cfl's andit seems like they need to be rather close to the plant inorder to have sucess...with ur light fixtures being soo far away how were u able to do that..or did you not do that?
also did you use the same lights for both veggin and flowering?

For the first few weeks I had the plants up on a box to get them close to the lights. Now that they are taller I have them sitting on some books and magazines. For veg I had 4 42 watt soft white cfl's and 2 23 watt daylight. Just last night I replaced the 23 watt daylight cfl's with 42 watt cfl's. That increased my lumen output by 2000.

Bag seed is named bag seed becuz it is an unknown strain. If the strain is not known it is impossible to even put anythingg close to a number on it... If anyone tells you any amount of time, they are talking out of their ass. U will just have to find out for yourself on this one... sad to say but true....thanks, i'll look aroound

so let me get this completely straight, excuse me if I sound like noob on this one but the differences in the highs are based on the maturity of the trichomes? and which is which, the more mature and amber the more couch locked you get? And the less mature milky trichs get you super high.

I have never harvested before but from what I read thats correct. More amber equals couch lock and more milky equals a more up kind of high. I am gonna test this out and see how much of a difference it makes.

Here is an update on the ladies. Plants A & B are doing great but C isn't doing so well. The leaves on C are twisting really bad and the buds just aren't filling in like the others. I think its due to a ph problem but the ph meter I bought is crap and doesn't work so I don't know for sure. Any opinions on what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated. They are ending their 5th week flowering. Do the buds look developed enough for 5 weeks? They look small to me.

I just wanted to share with you guys that I just bought a 400 watt hps today for my next grow. I am very excited about getting it in. Since rule #1 is not to tell anyone I had to say something here. I can't keep it to myself! I am planning on putting it in a HomeBox Small along with a carbon filter and an inline fan. I can't wait to get that set up.

I got the digital 400 watt with a cool tube reflector from HTG off of ebay. $275 for everything shipped! Can't beat that deal!

c just looks dry to me......dont know how many fans are on that plant during the day... but i have to say that my babies drink about 1 gallon a day easy in the bubbler system.... my outdoor dirt grow i water every day... but i put small amount of water... i like to check on them daily... and i get to spray the leaves anyway.l... good luck with your grow.. have you started the sugar treatment...??? that fattens them up about 20%

ok, so this is like my 2nd time growing and the 1st time i trusted a friend to take care of it for me and he forgot - dipshit - so i started 2 new ones, but this time i'm growing em' both. I ended up giving one plant of the 2 to my friend but i'm growin my own baby. I'm not too sure about the lights/wattage/lumens im using for this setup. It is in a smaller walk-in closet, two fans one stationary and one oscillating. Temp is about 84* all the time, light cycle is 24light:0dark - indoor growth. This is its 5th week and 3rd day into veg. Plant stem from soil to top measures between 22-25 inches in height. I used Miracle Grow soil, along with some Miracle Grow general fertilizer. I started out watering every 3 to 4 days, i now do it every 2 to 3 days.
Ok so pictures go from top to bottom, left to right (if your too stupid to realize lol) and it goes from day 6, 10, 16, 19, (19 again showing female pistils), 23, 26, 30, 33, 36, 38 then the last 3 are the tops of my plant on day 38 still.
Ok so the 1st picture (from left to right - top to bottom) is after 6 days old. I recognized it as a female on the 19th day of veg. growth, which is the 4th picture on the 1st row. The 5th picture on the 1st row shows the 1st signs of female, pistils. The last picture is up to date of 38 days old.
Now i just had a few questions i needed to be answered. My plant is 38 days old and is about 22-25 inches tall, i have about 16 seperate tops growing, is this a prime time to set my plant into flowering?
And for what you've read is my plant at a good level? is it way better than it should be or is it far behind what it should be for how long its been alive and what not? just want to hear if im my plant is doing good or decent or shitty.
And i read some stuff about how the marijuana leafs are better if they are long and narrow and dark green meaning more resin than long(or short) with broad leaves will create smaller strands of resin. Is that true??? anyone have any more information on that?
And just by your judgement and pictures, about how much bud (in weight) would you people say i'll gain from this one plant?
Also im going for more of the "stoney" high than the energetic laughing high. What is THE BEST ratio of light:dark for my plants? 12light:12dark? but what would be different about it if i did 18light:6dark? I need to know whats the best ratio of light to dark for getting some super dank bud.
Ive searched ALL OVER the internet and books about advanced marijuana growing and i cant seem to find out any answers to these questions. PLEASE HELP

You will want to judge when to start flowering by how much space you have to grow in. Plants could double or triple in size during flowering. The long narrow leaves just mean its mostly sativa strain and wider leaves means its more of an indica strain. I have never heard of it producing more resin due to leave shape and size. Sativa's will give you more of a energetic high and indica's will give you the couch lock kind of high. As far as lighting cycles 24/0 or 18/6 are both suitable for vegging. When you are ready for flowering switch to 12/12. Hope this helps.

I have one computer fan pulling air out of the tub and one blowing from the other side of the tub towards the exhaust fan. I haven't started any kind of sugar. I want to get some molasses and start that soon. So you think I am underwatering? I water about every 4 days. Is that not enough? Thanks for the advice.

18/6 for veg. and 12/12 for flowering, if the plant is already 22" I would start to flower, remember your plant is almost gonna double in height by the end of flowering, and I think its way to late to LST them, doing this would cause the braches to crack, If you do attempt try this be very gentle and careful about bending each brach a lil bit, if it dosent wanna bend dont bend.
when the thricomes (not sure of the spelling)are clear to cloudy "up high"
when left a lil longer, cloudy/milky to amber "couch lock high"
harvest after disired color, or so thats what I hear...good luck!!
