I highly recommend reading all the stickies in the Newbie section, then head on over to http://www.growweedeasy.com/ and check out "The Basics" section. You'll need to do a lot of homework still if you're asking such a question... and since you've started, you need to begin your research last week ;)

Have fun and enjoy your first grow, and like mentioned above, read all you can. Also, keep notes (including links to threads you think will be helpful in the future). Hell, if learning had been this much fun in school, I might have hung around longer!

I always recommend that you read grow journals. The advice and stuff is great, but watching 10-100 grows start to finish, 4 months over a few days makes up for a lack of practical experience. At least if you pay attention.

Pinochle, 4 or 6 handed, is my families game. Since my family has been here in the states (1890s or so) kids have learned the game the same way. Sit next to a player, watch, shut up, and ask questions between hands.
