It's winter here and I use a small fan to blow some cool air from outside on a timer to keep it cool. Was trying to find some type of controller to kick this fan on when temps reach a certain temp and off when they get low to where you want them.

That fan is 175 cfm right? That filter attached takes it down probably to 140 then he duct work another 20. I think you need a bigger fan if you can't do what I do to keep mine cool^^^^

Well right now I have my driveway side window blocked off..I have a nosey neighbour so I don't want light or any thing to be seen or heard..on my garden side is a small window with my exhaust ..my intake is currently a hole in my door leading into the basement which is cooler

Any who. I would suggest putting a small fan with less power than that one blowing air in. I bet that fan just can't pull it in fast enough. If not and if your fan is only 4" I would get bigger. But try the intake fan first. For windows man I have you solved I just had to do this. I'm way too stoned to make enough sense sorry lol. Get 2" sheet of foam insulation board, the type that looks like styrofoam with a silver lining on one side. Cut a piece to fit snug in your window frame, put in a set of light colored bamboo blinds and try to mount it as close to the window as possible. Then cut holes in your precut piece of foam board one for intake and another for Exaust if your room is very hot. Attach your duct or ducts with foil tape and install the foam board in window hole. Tape edges with foil tape. And cover the whole thing with black plastic if your that paranoid about light glowing through like I was.( im hoping you have a windowsill inside so you can fit this foam piece in the window hole. If not then just use long screws to cover the whole window frame with the foam board). Then run your ducts at a slight angle or make one bend and no light will go out. Your duct holes will be concealed behind bamboo curtains. The type that are a bunch of tiny bamboo sticks. Also want to cover the spot behind the duct holes in between the foam board and blinds with something white to match the backround white of the foam board as your looking in the window from outside.

I would definitly do that and it shouldn't cost you more than 50 bucks or so if you have another fan

Here's a pic before I added black plastic over it. Just did it with leftover pieces of foam. Here's my grow Im doing while I build all my setups. Just one plant Im messing around with and learned a lot from before I start a bigger grow.

Very nice..I'm currently intaking from my house...idk if its just not fast enough or what..I found a fan in the garage idk if its for a bathroom or what but i was thinking of attaching it to the bottom of my door to bring in air quicker.. I'm not sure if I should mount the filter on its side a Lil higher up.. Kind of be a pain in the ass prob lol..it would shorten the duct by 1-2 ft

I don't see a pic of you tried to post one. And I understand you need that window blocked off I think. You mean blocked off so no one can see the light shining out or no light can shine in? The pic I posted looks like shit from the inside but looks normal from outside and I just leave window cracked a few inches and no noise escapes either.

But if you can't do that or you don't think outside air will help year round then just get a bigger fan mine is 6" Inline vortex fan 400 cfm. That would do it. Use insulated duct and it will be quiet as shit! I don't think messing around with small fans at doorways or intake and all that does much good. I spent a lot of time doing the same stuff and ended up getting bigger Exaust fan. But you said there's a bathroom fan? Like a vent fan for when the bathrooms steaming? Those are usually around 100 cfm ish. Might help near intake of your enclosure. I'd try that alone first and see what gives.

Oh and Id suggest getting yourself a roll of plumbing strap(thin plastic strap with screw holes) and some screws to hang your filter fan and duct. If you can hang fan from ceiling it will help with the travel of sound some too.

Sorry rapid fire lol. But that is a 6" fan. I just got on my tablet and can see the pic better. I think that filter is huge tho! Creates lot of work for that fan. Gotta get rid of every so gle bit of duct you can. I don't see why you can hang your fan/filter and small elbow of duct right next to the hole it Exausts to. Post a pic if you made any changes to your duct since the last one

I think that's what the fan might be..its got no cover on it so I'd have to rig something up.. I guess tommorow I'll go get some straps or something and figure out how to mount this sideways on the wall..I have it on a shelf cause the fan just lifts off it so if I put it sideways it has a chance of falling off lol..any ideas for that .

It's a 6" im almost certain now that i can see it good. Measure it. If it is your fine if it isn't a 6" fan would help. I would make that intake double that size for your particular setup. And I'm tellin you that plastic strap from lowes comes in 25' length by 3/4" wide. Get a pack of anchors if it's drywall or screw Into studs if you can and hang fan/filter right above the exaust hole sideways quick elbow out the hole. Put it up high hanging from ceiling to get it out of the way. I guarantee if you open that intake a bit and have virtually no duct you'll be good.

Yes it is 6" the hole right Now is prob 6x9 I didn't wanna make it Much bigger but I'll try and see what I can do I suppose.. I'm not exactly sure how to hang the fan though like it said it just sits on top of the filter..I can hang the filter no prob but the fan will just be attached with tape lol..where do I find these plastic things what department

Also doing that with the fan will that make the noise outside at the window louder? Its a slight hum now
