My First Harvest!!

I would let it hang for 2weeks before putting it inn a jar,maybe 3.make sure that branch snapps when you break it.if it bends then throw it back on your string.I did a cure with 3weeks 4weeks and 5weeks and the 5th week was way better than the 4th week.IT just seemed to get denser.oh yea order all your shit you need for your next grow to that address so nobody has the knew one.thats what I do when I move I order everything I can so when I get to my knew house IM good to go. including seeds.good luck

so once they are in jars do you keep the lids on without exposing them for a few weeks? How long should i burp for? Once they no longer sweat?

Let it hang to dry for two weeks? LOL....

Once you start the cure, burp once a day for the first few days, then ever other day for about a week. Then you can pretty much forget about it. =)

They shouldn't be sweating if they're in the jars, they still need more time hanging up to dry.

Once they are snap dry, put them in the jars. I just open my jars once a day, shake the bud a bit, take a few whiffs untill the smell is bearable, then cover it back up. I'll do this for a couple/three weeks gradually doing it less often (not daily). When you first open the jar and take a smell.... oooofa, it's stinky. You can smell the chlorophyll breaking down.

Very nice harvest, esp for a first grow. Any idea what your final weight yield will be as yet? What was it when you picked it? (I usally calculate 15% from wet, that includes throwing out the larger stems when it finally dries).

Thanks for the advice on curing

And no I didn't take any wet weights.....I'll just cross my fingers and pray for a decent outcome....I'm really just looking for something to offset the price of equipment and get something that doesn't taste like lawn clippings....if I get a quarter of good tasting smoke I'll be happy!

i'm no expert but if that is your harvest in the first picture? it looks like 2, maybe close to 3 oz to me and much better than lawn clippings! :joint:

LOL yes that is the picture of my only female

I hope to get 2oz...the buds are somewhat fluffy and light, which I was well aware this would be the case due to my CFLs....but yeah I'm just crossing my fingers :) :hump:

Once again thanks for the positive comments. Is it possible to overdry/overcure?

You've got a green thumb. Nice job. Out of curiosity, why didn't you use a trellis or a stake to keep the plant upright?

Well I really didn't think about it until it was too late....it was actually the first thing I thought about when I was staring at the chopped buds laying across the table :blsmoke: LOL

LOL I know right!!! It was totally the blood meal I put into the soil...obviously a little too much LOL they needed that flush!!! Thanks for the rep, my grow would not have been possible without everyone here at RIU and their knowledge. Everyone here was an inspiration to my grow and I decided 'HEY!!! If all these stoners can grow their own bud...so can I!! A few months later...look at me go :hump: :hump:


Here's a few pics of their first 6 days hanging...looking pretty good IMO :) I've got another 6 branches in the closet too ;) :mrgreen: :blsmoke: :joint:
