My first homemade DWC cloner

I recently built a bubble cloner but i'm starting to have some concerns; I took cuttings on February 11th, but there is still no sign of roots. Am I doing something wrong?:eyesmoke: please help!!
...oh and the ph is somewhere between 6 and 7.5, and im using bcuzz root stimulator at half strength and a little bit of dutch master.

well, it's february 23rd now. There has been 64 views on my thread, but still noone seems to have any useful hints or even a comment....:finger:LAME!! However it appears i don't need your help anyways! Here is an update on my bubble cloner8)...thanks for nothing! ...If you have any questions or comments don't hold back!:fire:

I really like your cloner bro, I a small one plant DWC cloner myself. I'll have some pics up tomorrow on my journal you should check it out. Good luck

I use a bubble cloner and i found out some times your water could be a little cold and that will slow down the rooting,Good job on the cuttings.

also WOW ph is between 6 and 7.5 man thats a huge difference... 6.8 would be a magic number if you can maintain that but 6.5 would be better for your nutes... and sorry but another thing (correct me if im wrong) but roots need air to grow. Under the DWC conditions it may be to much water for the roots??... Im interested in this post as im a DWC grower. Well done on the setup and keep at it, it wouldnt be sucess without failure.

I'm a non-qual dink puke noobie...

But it does look like your water level is HIGH. Isn't the water supposed to spray (or mist from the bubbles) up toward the roots and not soak in the water?

That should be ok, the water is heavily oxygenated so roots will grow anyway. I tested it on my cloner, I placed some stems above the water level and some submerged and they all rooted still. Some people root by putting cuttings in a plain old glass of water, if you change the water regularly it still works.

the bubbles from the air-stones diffuse through-out the roots. Its enough constant oxygen for the roots to survive and grow.

haha sweet! thanks for all the comments!! ...When i first started this system i wasn't sure if the stem was supposed to be submerged or not (mine were all submerged in the water) this worked for me. The reason roots are able to grow and live in the water is because i'm pumping extra oxygen into the water 24/7 with an air pump rated for 30-60 gallon aqariums. Roots are much like fish... with the right ph, food, and oxygen they are gonna thrive... roots don't need a growing medium either.

:mrgreen:okay, ...since everyone has been posting all these great comments:clap:...I decided to give back a little myself, here are some shots of my "bud chamber":weed: For this project, I used soil for my medim and a 250 watt hps bulb for light. This garden of armageddon, great white shark, and white widow will be chopped down next week.bongsmilie The picture of a bud in a hand is great white shark (couldn't wait another week:joint::-P)

I have had NO luck with my bubble cloner... Either I am missing something (water is 75F, RH is usually around 60%-65%, box temp is around 28C, bubbles are bubbling great!) or blueberry is the hardest to clone ever haha

fill your container with water an inch away from the top... check your ph levels (try to keep em between 6.5 and 7) ...use a nutrient root stimulator such as "B'cuzz" (make sure you use it at 1/2 strength!) ...I don't even check my water temperature, but maybe i will start ...you should be getting roots in no more than 15 days if you follow those simple steps.

Yup, I simply take the cutting with roots and plop her right in the dirt, then gently press the dirt around her...making her toight like a tiger!

nice good work guys... I was really under the impression the stem couldnt be submersed even just a little bit but with enough disolved oxygen it should be alright... I would love to setup a DWC (deep water cloner) would be my next project...

Stems can be submerged or not. And it does not matter what your PH is when cloning, as long as the RH & temp is right you pretty uch should not fail at cloning. I use regular 8.0ph'd tap water, no nutes and i get roots in 7-10 days. But once they root that is when i start getting nutes, ph, temp all in check.
