That's a ridiculous price.

I'm hesitant to tell you whether you'll be fine because I really have no idea. You can drive yourself nutty wondering, but there really is only one good way to find out. Grow in it. Just make sure you cook the stuff for a good month before use.

This is the price list of where I went for the glacial rock, humic acid, feather meal, perlite, mycorrhize, and the bloom guano. Most of it was reasonable. Their kelp meal must be special. I did like the place, they pretty much have everything. But most of it is in large volumes which sucks. Yeah I'm going to let it cook for at least 30. Hopefully Ill get the web. :) Cant wait to try it out.

Looking more closely it looks like that was for Kelp extract and not meal, which I don't see on the list.

I hope it works out for you did you just pick random wt. Of the amendments or did you use some sort of formula subs been worken onhis soil mix for I think 25+ years it takes more then just mixxing stuff In and letting it sit keep us posted on your experiment

I didn't get the kelp meal since the smallest bag was 35 bucks for 3.5#s. Couldn't justify it. It was 1-1-17, Am I gonna be short on K? Maybe a kelp tea or something right before flower? I know sub has said if you add anything to his mix you'll burn the plants but I'm into my own mix at this point. Only way to know for sure though is test it like you guys have said. Thanks for the help.
I have been adding Kelp to my veg soil & Super Soil & have zero issues with it, in fact I think it helps the plants more & will continue to use it here forward

I also paid 10 dollars for a 2lb box of it @ the local nursery

I looked in what my soil had and what roots had and I made additions accordingly. The other weights I came up with were recommended to me based on my cubic feet of soil mix. I doubt I will have any big problems and I will be posting a grow journal when the soil is ready.

You need dolomite. Dolomite if very very important for balancing your ph. I forgot mine once and had some peat based sunshine mix #4. My ph was 5.5 at week 2 and I had lockout at just the wrong time. That doesnt get skipped anymore....

Sup NoCal! I Def agree about Dolomite lime into the mix for your pH issues, and before you let it cook. All the Best!
