My First Outdoor Plant!

So I had 6 plants at the start. They went into the ground April 4th and we’re about 4 weeks old. 3 of the 6, ended up molding out unfortunately. The seeds I used were just random bag seeds so I chalk it up to those 3 that got moldy were not genetically inclined for my outdoors condition. This was #4! I thought it came out looking beautiful! The last 2 are hard Sativa strains so they’re loving the outdoors! If I Dident top them they would easily be at 10ft right now:) anywho, I wanted to know any tips or tricks when it comes to steering clear of mold issues. East side of the Florida Coast:p

Air flow within the plant is important. Make sure water isn’t just sitting on the buds for days after a rain . I’m not the most experienced so I’m sure someone can offer more advice.

That plant wasn’t ready for harvest. Especially if it’s a sativa. Sativa strain will run few months easy before ready for harvest. Did you harvest the whole plant or just that bud?

That one wasent one of the big sativas I mentioned. Those 2 are still sittin in the ground growing big buds:))) this one was around 5 feet, and I had to decide.. either let it sit, mature and possibly mold like the other 3 I mentioned. Or harvest when it close so I could atleast get some bud! I cut her fully down

Well... good luck with that highly underdeveloped and non potent bud :(

Trim excess leaves to allow good sun penetration, also opens up air flow. How much does the screening cut down on the wind, may want to put a fan on them. I've not had mold, yet, but I have had good luck fighting off white mildew with a skim milk spray.

The area it’s in actually is no good when it comes to wind. Very shielded. Unfortunately we don’t have power out there to run fans let alone one. A few solar panels though, hopefully within the next few weeks we can wire up a fan to oscillate on the plants. It’s a 10x10 area but I mean 1 fan is better than none. Better air flow through the plant.. noted. I need to pay more attention to them, I usually only get to see them once a week:( excess fan leave gotta go and skim milk mix huh, I’ve never heard of that!

I get it. One recommendation would be grow indoor lol. Unless you can control the weather. Maybe try green house if it rains a lot?
Well I do both, I have a mother in a tent and another closet I’m using for clones in home. Still learning how to clone becuase I can’t seem to get it. But I want to grow outdoor much more. Important: need more airflow. Plus more diligence on making sure air can get through the plant easily. I feel like growing inside kinda shadows the natural aspect of growing!
