My First PC grow

Hello RIU, This is my first post after I just registered my account. I have been scanning through these forums for a while now looking at Scrog, LST, and many other ways to make my plant small but get a decent harvest(14 grams a plant). I have also been looking for stealthy ways to grow. Therefore, I went on ebay and bought a PC grow box. The growbox came with 3 fans, 4 2700k and 4 2300k CFLs. Odor control stuff and bubble aerator and everything else needed to begin my grow. So I ordered my grow case tonight about 45 minutes ago and this will be my first ever grow. I put my seeds into germination 15 minutes ago and am using the paper towel in a zip-loc bag method. I'm going to be using Fox Farm hydroponic nutrients, But yet to get them(What type should I get?)
I'm using bagseed :(

My qoals for my first grow...
1. I seem to know somewhat of what I'm doing, so I'd really like to get 14 grams per plant.
2. Don't have one plant die.
and 3. Get lots of help from my RIU friends.

Pictures will be posted the exact day I get my pc grow box. If you are willing to follow my thread and give me tips and answer me questions on my way to a 28 gram harvest, I'd be very appreciative. (2 PLANTS)

Thank you RIU and happy smoking,

FirsTime:leaf:

I just started my first PC grow also. I built mine myself for less then 50 dollars. I heard fox farm and cannna are very good. I went with just miracle grow soil because it was easy to get. In less then 5 weeks i got a decent looking plant only using 2 60w cfls and i just added a 100w cfl on the bottom so it can hit the sides of the plant. Good luck with your PC grow box. I hope you grow some dank nugget with whatever seed you happen to choose. Here is a picture of my setup. Tell me what you think..First Day (11-29-2010).jpg

That looks great except for the researched I've done you should thicken up those stems. Grab a few PC fans (120mm) from a online source for very cheap. Are you using nutrients? It looks great for such a cheap grow though. I'm doing a hydroponic grow with 2 plants and a very large PC case. Thanks for posting , hopefully you follow up on me incase I need advise or answers!

My picture doesnt show my 7'' fan thats hidden in my desk pointed diresctly into the pc box . I did that so there is alittle more room in the box. I thought about using pc fans but decided to go in a different direction. I have not used any nutrients with my grow. The only thing that I used was some miracle grow and some vermiculite mix. I just transplanted it acouple days ago and ive been trying to see ways to thicken up the stems but couldn't really find anything so maybe you might know something that I don't? It's great your using hydroponic system because i hear alot of good things about hydroponic bud. Just remember you gotta check ph levels and all that so always be checking your plants like a doctor. Let me know how everything turns out for you with your first pc grow box. Always nice to see someone who's doing the same thing. Good Luck and Happy Growing. :)

Oh. Thats a good idea, more room for the plant the happier that baby is. Well I don't know much but I read that the plant can actually stretch for the light to get closer to it, and that would definately make your stems small. Though now the plant is getting closer to the light maybe it will stop growing so much and begin to thicken up your stems. I'm using Canna aqua vega and I think its going to work very well for what i've seen from the hydroponic section. Can't wait until 9 weeks from now when i'm putting up bud shots from a PC grow and people are like what the fuck?Good luck and happy growing please keep following me on my journey to 28 grams :D

It seems like you have a good idea on what your doing. and yea my plant was about 1 foot away from the light since seed. The past couple days my plants stem has gotten thicken since i moved the lights around. Can't wait to see some pictures of your grow. I just updated my box myself take a look.Step 6.jpg. I also am in the works of making a bigger grow box out of a 6'x3'x2' cabinet. Good Luck and Happy Growing! :)

That looks great. I'll be sure to have up some pictures after the weekend either Monday or Tuesday promised so check back then. Thanks for your positive input. Your box is shaping up very nice and that is a good sized area for 3 plants in 3 gallon buckets. Grow some killed buds and don't forget to mail me a sampler :p

Welcome to the RIU PC Growers Gang. Sounds like you got a giant 26 in box on the way from MrGrowPro. I have the same system, it rocks! A few tips i learned from the PC growers on Riu: 1.Don't grow bagseed, if you can order feminized dwarf strains that are meant for growing in small areas such as the PC, do it. Lowryder, Shortryder, Easyryder. They cost a bit more but they save you lots of wasted time dealing with males and trying to control strains that just are not meant for such small places. When it comes to seed get them on the internet and pay top dollar it will pay for itself in the longrun. I got 2 shortryders growing on 18/6 the whole way they are Shortryder Auto Fem seeds and both are super healthy in their 2nd week under 4 cfls 2 warm spectrum 2 daylight spectrum. Ill get some pics when I can. 2. As soon as you they develop the first 2 leaves drop your cfls to around 1-2 inches from the plant, this will keep them small and stop stretching. see lighting section on CFL section. The system you have coming has the 4 bulbs on an ac adapter with magnets on it so you can lower your lights and raise them as it grows. 3. I got the same system and I actually chose to try a soil grow first because it is alot easier to deal with just having to water every two days and thats about it. If you do go Hydro check out crazytrains DWC grow it will show you each step and detail of using hydro in a PC. Good luck and Im looking forward to checking out your grow.
