My First plant ~ Master Kush

This is my first attempt at growing. Master Kush seed i got from my buddy.. started 9-4-07. I built my own small grow room ( till it gets bigger ) from a part of my desk that pulls out. 1 comp fan, 1 flourescent light.

First day of the magic happening..













This is my actual grow room, this is just my first starting stages of the growth, once it gets close to being the max size for this room i will build another one in my closet.

What alls in your setup? just the plant and the light?

Yea, its a 3x2x2 box, One CFL, Small PC fan, foil, Plant grow mix from local store, thats about it.

How big of a CFL do you have in there?? Going to flower with the same one or change lights when you go to other grow space?

I have one CFL 20w light, This room is to small for any HPS lights to have enough air flow with the light i believe. I will be building a 6ftx3ftx2ft in my closest as soon as this plant gets big enough. So far is seems that my current setup is going good, I know i need more light but thats coming soon.

If anyone has any good ideas for me or any information that i might be doing wrong go ahead and help me out.

Also I heard from a friend that if you pinch off the new leaves of the main stalk it splits into 2 main stalks? anyone know if this is correct? I dont want to go pinching off parts of my plants if its gonna cause them harm.

So far this website has been a great learning expirance, it kept me up till 5am last night. but hey, Knowledge is power right? haha!

also, i have it growing in MG potting soil mix, So far so good, but i read that its really bad ebcause of the time release in it.. anyone have any ideas about that? and whats a good soil mix i can buy at the local store?

Neutrient's is also something else im lacking on knowing about, I keep reading and reading but it seems that there is tons of stuff out there to use.. anyone with expirance have something soild i can use?

I grew with mg (the one with time release nutes) on my last grow. It was only one plant, but everything was fine and healthy until I found out it was a male...

Ouch,that sucks man. I really hope this is a Female, its starting to get a very nice smell. As far as the soil, i think ima keep going with the MG for this one.

I recently got done with what you call topping and fimming, by topping you should end up with two main colas and with fimming you should end up with four.


Here are some pics of the after math,

Hard to see, but see the three little circles at the tip, that's some syrupy clear liquid.

Topped plant, I topped her a bit higher than normal because I wanted both girls to be around the same height, although this one should have two colas and the other should have four.

Fimmed plant, should end up with four main colas.

I wouldn't go pinching anything off, it was recommended to use a razor blade, do a search for topping - fim - fimming.

Nice valuablevariable, Do you have any pics so i can compare ? this is my first plant so something to match up with it would tell me alot more then compared to the diffrent strains that are out.

nice job, Mine look nothing like yours, haha, but im not worried about it, i think i just need more lights, thats coming after i get off work in 30mins!
