My first post and first questions as a ultra NooB

Hello fellow gardeners.Im in Washington (hooray for our medicle laws here) Just got my medicle card for chronic pain. I have nerve damage from a accident that has left me pretty messed up. I am starting on weed to help get off the methadone and percocet that I have been on since the accident back in 2002. I have found that starting back smokeing again that the stuff out there now a day is WAY stronger then when It was back in high school. In the 80s we had really good skunk or greenbud and had crystals and 1 bowl got us baked but this stuff today just gets me way to ripped. Makes the heart beat really fast and sometimes Im sorry I even smoked it.....even just 1 hit. Hell even half a hit sometimes. A friend of mine had some stuff that tasted just like the stuff from back in the day. It was so close that you could just bet it was the exact same strain. Soo sweet tasteing and such a nice easy high that diddnt make my heart pound outa my chest. I know that as I smoke more my tollerance will get higher.....even now after the initial first hit of the day an hour later I can spark up and not have the same bad effect that I did first hit of the day. Please dont call me a light weight or rookie as I have done my share of all kinds of drugs with both hands over the years..Im 40 today.....Ive done em all.
Question is can a experianced grower identify the strain if I had some bud so I can try and obtain the same seeds or clones for my first grow? I have a nice big basement that I will be setting up to grow soon. I can keep up to 15 plants or up to 24 ounces of finished bud in my state so I am pretty excited to get started. I will be starting a grow diary soon also. Im gonna have lots of questions. This looks like a pretty friendly place for the most part.

hey grasshopper. just gona put my two cents in here. imo unless the bud has some unique look that is only seen in a certian type of strain i think even the most experienced grower would only be taking a guess. i could be wrong. but i do have a suggestion for you....look up some smoke reports right here on riu and find a strain that is right for you. if your lookin for a heavy stone and not rocket fuel i would also suggest letting ur plants go a little longer then what is called for to get a more sedated felling. just my opinion. wait and see what some of the vets in here have to say. and as always good growin to you.
