My first real indoor grow

NOW FOR THE HYDRO SET-UP

Pic update time.

I'm not sure if mods should move this thread or what.It started out as indoor dirt and now it's indoor hydro and outdoor dirt rofl.

I'll add some pics of the outdoor plants soon.Give them time to perk back up.Bad storm came through and forced them over so I straightened them back up and braced them to regain a grip.Bugs started munching away on a few also.Got me some organic bug killer.

SAFER BRAND tomato and vegetable insect killer.Kills on contact use up to day of harvest.Contains insect killing soap and botanical pyrethrins.


Gimme some feedback people.Am I doing good,bad avg...haven't had any replies in along time.

how long till you start flowering?

Shouldn't be too much longer.I need to make a second set up first cause the one plant isn't growing as fast.I'll transplant it to another plus it will open up room for the others to grow.

Just gave the res a good cleaning and washed out the pumps filter.They should shoot up a good bit and I may go ahead and start to flower after this.

Just went and checked on my babies in the woods.Lot less trouble from the bugs since I been using the organic bug killer.Took some Sevin concentrate and sprayed around the plants(none on the plants) good watering even though soil was still damp from some recent rain.
Plan to search for a better area for them.They need to be put in the ground so the roots got more room to grow.Nice spot where they are now but I know I have some better areas.

I also have a system like yours and have a few questions.

How offen you change the res? easiest way you have found?

You have a problem with PH rising, if is how you deal with it?

what strain are you groing?

I try to change the res on time (10-14 days) but I've let it go for around 3 weeks with no probems.

The way I do the cleaning...
I have them on a rolling metal rack so I roll it to the bathroom.I have the drainage valve so I drain all the water out in a pitcher and pour down the drain.Next I remove the the main feeder line of the pump and as long as the roots haven
t grown around it somehow,it comes out in one piece.Set it across something so the roots hang down while you clean the res,pump filter,feed lines.

Started out using Brita filtered water,switched too half well water half filtered.Last change I went full well water and everything is still growing fine so for those that say well water isn't usable think again.I just picked up 6g of distilled now that I'm flowering.

As for PH...
This is where I've had some odd results.I have a digital meter that says the water is always 8.30(really high right) but when I use some test strips they say it's always around 6.5 .So basically what I do is....nothing.I've calibrated the meter time and time again so I said screw it.Every day/other day I just throw a few grams of ph down in and everything has worked out.

While I could get better meters and stuff to make sure everything is perfect the way there are lookng now I'm happy.I'm a very rare smoker but gf is a pothead and I have tons of friends that will snatch it up so I figured I'd grow to supply her and make a few bucks in the process.

The strain is called GLAD...
A wonderful strain that you find in the bottom of a GLAD sandwich baggie lol.Figured I'd just try them first to learn the system.No sense in blowing money on some good seeds to experiment with only to fail horribly.Now that I know what I'm doing a little better I have my eye on a few that I'd like to try.
For anyone else that may read this When I do smoke I like that Head buzz,float around the house without a care shit.I hate that stuck to teh couch for 3 hours or straight to sleep stuff.
The sleep stuff is good for when my back hurts or can't sleep but I just don't like to sit and stare at the TV for 3 hours and have no clue whats on.
s should take off soon.

Now I'm off to clean the res and scout a good permanent spot for my outdoor babies.

Just found out my supplier is leaving in 2 weeks for 6 months so I have to make sure they have a good spot to take off.

Just a few update pics.Have more to post later.Final Count of the 6 I was growing(one died young from a Feed tube malfunction,one was male and 4 beautiful females)
Everything looking good and i think they are done growing up now to wait for them to fill in.
It's amazing how much they will climb when you switch to a HPS and a 12/12 cycle.They doubled in hieght in like 3 days but they have pretty much stopped upward growth now and hairs are exploding from everywhere.

Final count was 3 females.Now roughly 7 weeks into flowering.I have 3 new pics to post and like 9 more to upload.Photobucket is being a bitch and I'm only getting one pic at a time uploaded for some reason.I'll post them when they are all ready.
