My First Semi Serious Grow

Erm quick question, do you think i should clip of the oval leaves?
They seem to be getting pretty big on SX1&2 and it seems like a waste of the plants energy?

Also, i have not added anything to the soil yet, just straight water. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I was thinking bout just having a organic grow, seems like theres less ways of messing it up like that lol.

You can find the daylight bulbs at walmart or home depot. walmart is cheaper, the store that i went they were in a blue package (energy smart) here is the upc info 043168853972-and the product #85397 (walmart) look at the energy saver section, I didn't find them the first time because they were hidden down low. You want at lease 3 bulbs, I have 8 going right now. 1600 lumens (x) 8 =12,800 total lumens and around 200watts. You also might want to put them on a 18/6 or even 24/0 not the 17/7. Your plant will alot faster with more light.
If you still can't find the daylights you should be able to find cool white cfls with no problme. I was thinking that you have a small space you might be able to tape some white paper to bounce the light to your plant. I don't know if it will work though.

I wouldn't cut anything just yet, wait untill the plant is bigger.
Just add water for now, I don't know if you have any way to test the soil or water. so you might over nut it. and kill it.
more light more light more light. more air more in and out (air) which will bring new air in and the old out, this is key.

Thanks logan, ive just set my timer to 18/6 , yeah i thought it was a lil to early to cut em aswell.

I got a soil tester, tested that and it was neutral, not to much acid not to much alkaline.

i wana get a exact ph tester soon.

lol belive it or not i have had problems finding the cool ones, ive managed to find one 28 watt coll white one but it had this gay connection, i got it n e way but blew it tryiong to wire it up to a plug. right now i only have 2700k ones.

yeah i got a fan on in there with some paper in front of it to stop it blowing to hard or onto the plants, but to keep the air moving. I also blew up a black bag today and put it behind the fans so the fan was sucking the co2 out of the bag and around the cupboard.

Got 4 more bulbs to add today that will be a total of 6 = 9310 Lumens.

I think SX2 is coming on nice, SX1 is slightly behind and the other 2 are doing pretty well considering there age and the fact they haven't been able to get that close to a light cause there currently occupied!

Last night i cleaned out my grow room as it was a bit of a tip, no condition to raise young ones thats for sure. Also Laid white paper on the floor and built a cover for the fan that allows me to control roughly how hard it blows onto the plants.
I was never told why i should remove the mirror so i kept it, silver foil is long gone tho!

I told you why you shoudn't have the mirror earlier. but Ill tell you again the mirror takes in the light with out giving it back. Not a good reflectent. just use flat whit paint or that christmas poly film.

Ok then mate, well i took the mirror out today so ill is good

i managed to get a cool white one and ive managed to get my 42watt warm white ones connected so thats better

So now i got 3 20watt ones and a 42 watt one

Ill be connecting a 23watt one tomorrow and hopefully another 42 watt one!

SX2 is looking really good, the second set of leaves are coming through nicely, considering i got a 5ft 10 high and 5 ft long cupboard when do you think i should flower? im thinking once the plant reaches 1 foot, what do you think?

thats really up to you, I let my plants veg for 3 months( i didn't have the right type of light and I just wasen't taking care of them.) I just got the extra lights and I can tell the difference, big time. My plants were also all streched out about 1 1/2 tall but they were skinny and not full. I also just did the tie down bethod. I have read others veg for 2 weeks. Some don't even veg. (different method of growing) I just took some pics I will load them.

the plants look greener, fuller and not as much brown.

Moved Sx1 & Sx2 to bigger pots friday night, saturday morning the leaves on sx2 had gone abit brown but sx1 is fine. Im hoping it was just the stress of moving them as sx2 did have abit of a hard time, the soil wasn't wet enough when i went to move her so it made it abit harder, managed to get him in the pot in the end tho fingers crossed she perks up, its 3 days later and she is still alive so i dont think its going to kill her
The other 2 plants are coming on well. All plants almost have 2 full sets of leaves now.

Well even tho Sx2 has gone droopy she is still growing
Sx1 is not looking to good
one of the other 2 has a hint of purple in the leaves but shes the only one, if it was temperature drop i would of thought they all would have got it
The other Twin has shot up and is now about 3inches wide, that was a shock lol

I also updated my lighting situation as it was all abit of a shambles, not much better lol!

It seems to be going downhill now for no reason

the brown spots look like maybe burns from the cfls being too close. i had the same thing happen too mine. how hot is it in there?

Im not sure of a exact temperature, but there is a 18" fan in there that comes on when the lights come on and every 15 mins for 5 mins when the lights are not on.

Moro opinions on the plants plz.
