My free growbox

Hey All,

These are some pics of my DWC/CFL grow box I'm currently building. I scored a free crate from a piece of lift machinery, it measures H2080mm x W700mm x D630mm. Its from the brand KONE which I thought was rather fitting! LOL

I'd like to be able to CLONE, VEG and FLOWER in this box....dunno if I have the room? But the shelf area you see measures H430mm x W700mm x D630mm and can easily be adjusted if you have any ideas on how to make this possible...cheers

Anyway I'm trying to build it on a budget and that takes time, but here's some pics of what I have done so far.

- Fully sealed light leaks with acoustic sealant
- Clone/Veg Shelf.....can be removed
- Adjustable CFL Light Module....will have 2 more lights added
- Cut Outs for extraction
- Started DIY Carbon Scrubber
- Constructed DWC Tub and Pots

Waiting to Install

- Reflective Material
- Intake and Extractor Piping including Carbon Scrubber
- Extraction Fan
- More Lights

Cheers....do i have to change the 36w cool white tubes in the vert fluros to growlux ones??? I installed the sun reflector material today and heavy duty comp fan...looks awesome! got pics coming soon.

Also if I only have that shelf to clone/veg in is it possible to hold the clones in rockwool there until my first 2 plants are done flowering below in the DWC???

nice but the only thing i am wondering if you are going to have a problem with root rot because of the clear res. you might want to paint it or wrap it in duck tape to keep the light out. just a thought

Got some new pics of my stealth growbox

Installed Sun Reflective Material..it's sooooo shiny it makes a HUGE difference! Also installed 100mm Computer Fan, its pretty quite and u can't hear it outside my store-room which is where my Growbox resides. Thats all for now, will be getting my activated carbon, extra lights and nutes next, shouldnt be too long until i can germinate...YAY!

Does anyone know if I could Clone and Veg in my top shelf/chamber area? I was thinking I could divide it vertically (clone and veg) and use black plastic curtains to deal with the different light cycles or just Clone and Veg under the one Light and one area. Im using DWC in the main chamber and would like to start the seedlings and clones in rockwool on the top shelf/chamber, but if my first plants are'nt ready for Harvest by the time the Clones have rooted how long can I keep them up there just in rockwool before transferring into my clay filled netpots below? I want an all in one growbox, does anyone understand what im trying to say?

yeah you could do it, but i dont see a mother plant fitting up there so either way ur need another area for her

take a floro and turn it vertical. lowes home depot walmart

Drogrowno - There are regular Fluros turned Vertical to stay inline with plants growth. I got these from a construction site they are 36w cool whites


Aethersaegis - Could I not use a mother plant and just take clones off each of my below Vegged Plants before Flowering them each time? Then move those cuttings into the small clone area, then to small veg area(that top shelf) and finally below once my first plants are harvested. How long could you keep a clone in rockwool on a tray before it needs to be put into netpots? Or should I just try the FRIDGE STASIS method to buy time.

Therellas - Cheers Man, I live in AUS so we don't have the same LOWES as u guys, ours sells just clothes. The Light fixtures are modified work utillity lights from a hardware store. The Plastic Cages have been removed, the Ends have been cut off and the Alluminium Reflector has been moved outwards to accomodate the Larger Bulb being used. The whole inside was then lined with aircon tape for reflective purposes, I will also be spray painting them flat white to avoid the black plastic stealing all my light.

Aethersaegis, I Just had an idea. I could modify the top of my grow cab on the top right hand side like a raised sort of chimney thing, a foot higher or something to accomodate the mother?

They just plug straight in to a wall socket or power strip. In Aus its a 240v outlet, our electricity is different to yours. You can then change the bulbs to GROWLUX ones if u whish but the standard ones are 36w cool white tubes which i will trial first.

Hey just finished germinating some bagseed weed, just a trial of my grow box to make sure it all works and maybe score some bud in the process.
