My General Hydroponics feeding schedule for use with a WaterFarm bucket

Hi Folks,

I've had a few successful grows using GH products , but I've also had some pretty unsuccessful ones as well. If you are like me, and using a Waterfarm bubble bucket , you might be having some issues trying to dial in the nutes and such. The instructions on the label and website are pretty much useless, as they will cause you to mix the nutes at such strong levels that it will kill your plants or , at the very least, make them very sick and will adversely affect the smell and taste of your bud.

I also use ProTekt , from DynaGro to protect against temp stress, mites and critters, and also it works extremely well to balance the PH. Once I adjust it, it stays put until I have to change the res. Works great, I highly recommend it.

Here is the schedule I've found works the best for me so far, when using the General Hydroponics nutrient line. Fill up the waterfarm bucket to the white line ( 2 gallons ) and add the following amount of nutes ...the numbers are written in .ml

I use Protekt, so I ALWAYS ADD PROTEKT FIRST ...then mix
Then I add FloraMicro - then mix..

then add the others in whatever order you wish..mixing in between each.

*10 ml protekt each res change
*Adjust ph to 5.9

• Change res every 7-10 days
• Top off with fresh water & ph adjust to 5.9 if necessary. Depending on the cycle, you might have to top off daily. I sometimes have to add 1/2 gallon or more of fresh water a day!

I use floranova bloom only in my WF at the strength dictated by the plants uptake on the ppm meter seems to work well. I checked their fert percentages with my meter and yes they are way to strong but then again they need to sell as much of the ferts as they can. Bottom line is always measure your nute soup with a reliable meter. By the looks of your plants you have it down.

so the number listed are in ML per TWO gallons? so i change my rez every week and i use eight gallons of water so im gonna wanna times those numbers by four?

Im using the similar lineup of nutes, I found this info really helpful thanks man..When do you start adding your seedling solution to your seedlings, like # of weeks from germination? Im right at week 1

Correct! This comes out to about 600ppm ( about .85 EC ) for me on my ppm meter. Which seems a little low I know, but because it's constantly recirculating unlike a flood/drain or other hydro setups...it tends to evaporate water faster and is not competing with other plants in the flood tray for it's food.

I start my seedlings in paper towels soaked in plain tap water, and then transplant them to 1" rock wool cubes sitting in about 1/8" plain water once its germinated( usually about two or three days). I dont put them into the hydro bucket until I have roots shooting out of the cube. I also find that if i put the seedling into the bucket too early, it gets beat up and soaked by the water sputtering out of the drip ring. Once I put into the bucket I start feeding the seedling solution. This is probably at about two weeks from the time I put the seed into the paper towel. Usually the plant has two sets of leaves on it by this point and has grown enough so that it doesn't get beat down by the drip-ring. I suppose you could burry the drip ring...but I like to have it just above the surface. I find that I've gotta periodically take the drip ring off and clean it( sometimes it gets clogged with roots getting sucked up into it).
