Hey, I know this is kinda lame but I'm really bored and just though I would start a post about my auto watering system thing I just made.

Materials-

things I already had-
1-small fountain pump i found in basement.
1-4ft long plastic tube found in garage. (not sure of the exact mesurements but hey...it fits the pump).

things I did NOT already have-
1- small plastic waistbasket. 2.97
1-single setting timer. 4.47
total cost for timer and reservoir (waistbasket)-8.07.

the pics show basicaly how everything works. I'm just excited because I didn't kknow how I was going to water my plants on vacation...but now I do!!! and again...I know it's lame and nothing new but as I said earlier...BORED. thanks guys.

I'm actually using a different digital timer now, that mechanical one isn't going to work for it. But I just poked some really small holes in the tube for drip like watering system. And just put the timer on 1 minute on a day. it should be the perfect amount of water for them. Also...those are some nice healthy looking plants u got n your gallery. nice work.

hey man i have that exact same timer. But honestly i am too much of a pothead to figure it out even with the instructions on the back. Could you holla at me with some easy to follow instruictions on how to use it. I think i may have figured it out earlier today but the timer never moves so i cant tell if time is elapsing

I dig it!

Couple of notes,

Try to get black tubing. The clear will let algae grow.

A trip to HD or Lowes and you can get a 5-bag of adjustable dripper that you can poke into the tubing for like $4. (check the auto sprinkler section)

Pretty much a simple version of my drip hydro system, but I'm using a coco coir/perlite mix that needs 4-6 waterings a day. Self watering makes things soo much easier:)

Seriously. Best investment of time/money I've ever made (w/ regards to gardening, of course)
