My Ghetto Ass Carboard Box Grow (single grow)

This is my Ghetto ass grow box that i put together with things that i had found at home...not one dollar was spent on this so its better then nothing...the box is 3x1.5x3 and i have two cfls 1-26w 2700k and a higher watt 6500k and the two tube fluoresants i just threw in for some more lighting. I have one fan the blows air at the plant and helps circulate it in and then out the top of the box...if anyone has any advice as to adding more lighting or somthing that isnt right please let me know.

I commend you sir. As said, ensure everything is safe and just continue to add on with it. Another/Stronger light here, computer fan there, and maybe a more solid wood-like structure should the opportunity arise. But right on man, shows true dedication and an interest just to simply explore the procedure/task that is growing a wonderful marijuana plant.

You should remove that cd. you need air to get to your soil so the roots can thrive.

Why does this setup seem such a hazard...? It's been like this for a few weeks and nothing out of the ordinary..

Philnob, I am in the middle of my first grow and I am using a cardboard box as well. I have an outlet strip ziptied to the top of the box which I have attached my cfls to. I have a square hole cut on the bottom for intake with mesh material covering it to catch dust. On the top of the box I cut a hole big enough to fit a computer fan which is for my exhaust. I have not taken any pictures of my setup, only my plant's progress, but I'd be glad to do it for you for ideas since you happen to being going ghetto as well. hey those cfls look like 2700k, you should hit up target and get some 6500k lights.

Thanks pura vida, I'm glad that I'm not the only one dedicated to growing, the box idea is the best for me at the moment and I'm most likely gunna do the surge protector idea you speak of

Everyone's had their share with ghetto made boxes and such, but like everyone said make sure its not a fire hazard. how hot does the box stay?
