ok so this is my first indoor grow ive grown outside before and it came out swell.:bigjoint:
Im using a metal cabinet like the in the att pic. a 400w Sun System 2 switchable mh/hps(internal ballast if that matters). and im thinking of getting 6in inline/inlet 240cfm fan with a two speed switch. and a dayton 465cfm vent blower for my exaust 4in so i have to convert. and some kind of carbon filter attached to the vent blower.:-P sorry if no one can understand me lol but if you can comments please!:leaf::weed:

have you got any sound restraints, it just looks like the inline fan may be a bit noisy, but if not then it will work fine, how many plants are you planning on doing at a time because you may be better getting a tent which may give you more room. also you may have problems with light leaks with a metal closet.
god luck with whatever route you chose to take.

2 clones under 400w must be vegged some time, make use of the light and get a bigger yield, i guess a single fan would suffice

I would veg at least 3 weeks. If you dont your yield will be so wimpy, it might just piss you off that you just "spent $300 in elctricity for this".....lol

i have a dr80 which is 2.6x2.6x5.5 and i flower with a 250w and then for the last 4 weeks of flowering i throw in a 150w aswell. it just about does it so i guess as zem says you might want to think about the 600, but then again if its only 4 plants i dont think you would need that much room anyway so i guess you could always make it a bit smaller if you really did want the 400w.
i hope that makes sense to you.

Hmm...I would perhaps ditch the inline fan as you look as if you were planning on using it for intake. You can use passive intake which creates negative pressure in the cabinet allowing you to keep the odor in the cabinet and not leak out :) You may want to concider a fixture in which the ballast is seperate because heat build up can be a problem for some people inside cabinets. It really depends on the climate you live in and where you plan to put the cabinet. Try to plan around the exhaust system alittle if you can...i.e. if possible setup where you can either pull in fresh air from another area (whether it be another room or outside) or vent the heat out of the room.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask and check out my cabinet build it may inspire you....

To filter the incomming air I use a home made lighttrap with a Hepa filter placed at one end so it is easy to replace later. You can use the higher end filters for home heating units or if you need smaller which is usually the case then you can browse the vacuum aisle like I did till I found something that I thought would work.

You can take alook at my thread for an example....
