yes that will be perfect that is all you need for ventilation, i would still try to get a small fan in each area though so you have good circulation within. You can get that same fan at home depot for $5-$10 cheaper and then you can get everything else you need for the ducting right away, it is very simple to set that up.

yeah this forum is awesome, usually pretty prompt with answers, Im actually pretty new here but I like it a lot. The answer to your question is yes they will have lots of different materials for diy carbon filters. I have never used one myself and have heard mixed reviews of the diy filters, so let me know how well you think it works. Seems to me that it would have to work pretty well in escense it's not much different from the store bought models.

Ah, I looked at the second pic now and I see we have different models. If you have the tools I would strongly recommend replacing the back cardboard with a 1/4" sheet of cheap plywood. Makes a world of difference in strengthening the cab. Near impossible to square the thing up with that flimsy cardboard and you'll drive yourself insane trying to make it light proof.

Well im not really worried about the back right now persay.. Only reasons are that I am gona be moving in about 16 months soo there for the entire cabinet will be destroyed, and I will be in a house with a room especailly made for this  I am having a extra bedroom built onto my house out in caliente nevada.. The wife knows what its for.. And also I plan to caulk the edges and then put mylar around the inside... :fire:

draging around 11 pounds of carbon ?? Umm not sure what u mean lol but if it is what I think it is, The carbon you can buy a roll of it its like 3-4 punds max.. It comes in a roll like the mylar does but its only like 4-5 feet long by like 2 feet wide so you cut it to size and then wrap it around setup, but hey whatever..

Thx for the link I'll save .. Those fans look pretty tight, it's just I cant afford those as of now need to wait till I get some money coming in.. As of right now I bought one of those 4 inch inline duct work fans from HD for like 30 bucks, but when I get the money I spent back so far then some, I'll def purcahse those

These things are filled with massive amounts of activated carbon granules. The biggest ones hold like 110 pounds of it. I've seen the carbon filter ones, but they are pretty small aren't they?

Painting that is a real bitch. My paint would not stick. Even after I took a sander to it and took it down to bare wood the paint would only stick a tiny bit better. There is something in the glue that holds the wood particles together or something it's odd. Get some mylar. You can paint and it looks fine but then after dry, you can scratch the paint and it comes right off.
