My Grow Report

Heys guys I sprouted a few seeds, just under cfls until I get the MH bulb. I wanted to document it, and share it and see what happeneds.
I have a 600 watt phantom ballast with hortilux eye extra bulb in radiant 8 inch hood. Im using an 8 in 400 cfm "duct booster fan" for now, its not meant to be primary but it is for now its cold out anyway just snowed 6 inches! Im using House and Garden Soil A + B and their Root Acceleration, along with fox farm grow big which I just had but prob wont use.

All seeds from HERBIES germed 100 %, 3 afgani non fem, 2 critical sensi star fem, a strawberry blue fem& a auto short ryder. Theyre under cfl for now, in FFOF+20% perlite it didnt seem too hot for seedlings so far . I water it 3 times a dsy lightly with distilled water with spray bottle.

Im planting the auto in a 9 quart bucket that I optimised right now.

They'll be fine under CFLs till they get a bit bigger. Then you could put the HPS over them, they don't NEED the MH, vegging under HPS is done all the time...

At this point drop the CFL as low as possible to stop the seedlings from stretching towards the light too much. I hate long spindly seedlings!

Ya ok ill make sure i put them real close, ill make sure to keep the fan on them but since theyre small i only lightly water and they dry quick. Should be fine. Maby ill veg in hps when they get bigger depending if i get mh or not.

Its 9 quart for my auto. Used soughter gun, should i put holes sround the sides to air prune? Or is thst a nogo for auto

Frosty, I have a Strawberry Blue freebie from herbies. Mostly good reports, with a few hermies, so I heard. That put me off a little bit, but I may run her all by herself just to see what all the ruckus is about

I've heard about the hermies too, I'm doing the same, run it separate from the rest when the time comes and see what happens.

Don't know about the sides but you're putting a small layer of gravel or something on the bottom to keep the holes from being clogged?

Is that 8 inch boost fan an axial fan??

wow i didnt put anything at the bottom...is that a big deal? Im going to let the plwnt grow a little so it can be strong enough to be taken out quick and put stuff at the bottom?

I wanted to do scrog but have too many diff strains, maby ill just top and do lst and get some clones and scrog next round?

Nah, I'd just leave it this time. For my plants in larger soil containers, a lot of non-MJ and MJ I've been putting a layer of lava rock ($3 or $4 dollars for giant bag at home depot or your local outdoor store you can use pea gravel too, just as cheap) over the holes on the bottom to keep the soil from clogging them. It's been working real good for drainage.

You'll be good without, no big deal.

Maybe get some pvc and make individual scrog frames? Or a couple of them to try out and see how it works on a few plants?

Thats a good idea. I thought i got all indica dom so maby they'll be close but ill look into your idea. Prob just end up making clones of my best "pheno"

Does anyone have any advice on individual scrog screens?

My tent just got here lil bit ago ill take a pic of it when its put up. I also boutht jorge cervantes grow bible on my tablet so i can read everywhere. the beginning is honestly disappointing but hopefully itll get better.

I have my plants under cfl ri th t now, i want to put them in my tent under hps (600 watt ) for now possibly, I dont have mh bulb yet worst case scenario i have seven 26 watt cfl, two 105 watt cfl and the 600 watt phantom/hortilux.

No carbon filter yet, making homemade one until flowering. Wanted to do...

(Carbon filter)>ducting >hood>ducting out of tent>fan sucking air out? Only 420 cfm 8 in duct fan though.
