hahahah found "notes" i took from bak in the beguining of august before i had started to grow
- ph tester 6.5
- fertilizer For strong healthy growth when the lights are on
24 hours a day to see how big the plants can get, use a fertilizer
with a high first number. 19-19-19 is good. etc.
For strong flowers (buds) when the lights are on
12 and off 12 hours, use a fertilizer with a
high MIDDLE number. 12-17-12 something
like that.
Rapid-Gro fertilizer has been specially formulated for growing
cannabis plants. This is no secret to cannabis
farmers. They're high middle number fertilizer
is called. Bud builders or something like that.
The plant can begin to sex itself in this stage,
but if time is an issue one can induce sexing
by switching to a 12/12 hour period. Once sex
is determined you can remove the males and
switch the cycle back to vegetation stage by
inducing an 18/6 hour period.
Maturation. Eventually the pistils start to turn
color from pale white to red or brown At the
same time the flowers close up, forming false
seed pods. The small glands on the flowers now
start to grow. These are called stalked
capitate glands and are composed of a tiny
stalk supporting a thin clear membrane. As
THC is produced near the site, the membrane
swells with the potent liquid. The membrane
stretches and the gland takes on the
appearance of a mushroom. When the glands have
swelled and the pistil has receded into the
false pod, the bud is ready to pick.
First, pull the plant up roots and all and hang it upside down
for 24 hours. Then put each plant in a paper grocery bag with the
top open for three or four days or until the leaves feel dry to
the touch. Now strip the leaves off the stem and put them in a
glass jar with a lid. Don't pack the leaves in tightly, you want
air to reach all the leaves. The main danger in the curing
process is mold. If the leaves are too damp when you put them
into the jar, they will mold and since the mold will destroy the
resins, mold will ruin your weed. you should check the jars
every day by smelling them and if you smell an acrid aroma,
take the weed out of the jar and spread it out on newspaper so
that it can dry quickly. Another method is to uproot the plants
and hang them upside down. You get some burlap bags damp and slip
them up over the plants. Keep the bags damp and leave them in the
sun for at least a week. Now put the plants in a paper bag for a
few days until the weed is dry enough to smoke. Like many fine
things in life, weed mellows out with age. The aging process
tends to remove the chlorophyll taste.
