My Indoor Grow

well i started off by using a seed from some fire mids i was forced to get. im in the middle of week two and my first set of leaves are pretty nice sized. my second set of leaves are now coming in. im using 1 CFL and im running 19/5

any advice on how to speed up the growth or even tips for bettering my grow just lemme know

HAPPY SMOKINGS:eyesmoke:

P.S im also using regular potting mix with some grow-mix nutes i picked up at walmart. i laid some cedar mulch around to hopefully ward any pest away when the time comes.

here's a few pictures IMG_20121019_142340[1].jpg

information like what's the color of cfl u're using i.e. 2700K (warm white) or 6500K (cold white) would be more helpful, how much you water your plant and what's the ph, what is the room temperature. all those things are kind of important. I started my seedling 7 days ago, but till yesterday I have been experiencing very slow grow, it seemed that it stopped growing for three days. And this morning there were already new growth starting. Maybe it was getting energy for that idk, so patience sometimes comes also a long way in solving those problems, as long as temperature is ok, soil is not wet but moist with proper ph, light is 3-4inches away and the plant is in humid environment everything should be ok. Though I am not sure about giving nutes at this age is good, somebody more experienced should comment about that. Btw, from pictures it's really hard to check your plant. Maybe you have any better quality?

2700k, every 1-2 days depending on how moist the soil is. i use water from my fish tank, and tap water. i rotate water every water cycle. temp at night is 76.5 and during day 80-82. not sure of my ph yet still needa get a meter. since i turned lights off ive seen some growth so maybe you were right. i will get some better quality pics in awhile. i keep the light 1-3 inches away. im running one 24w cfl

well everything sounds proper, except for light color, since it should be 6500k for a small plant like yours, unless you want to switch it into flowering from the very beggining. In the grow state they need that spectrum of light. But in some countries its difficult to get cfl with that color and in some it's quite easy.
The way you do it, sounds just like my first grow. I wanted the plant to feel as comfortable as possible. However later I found out that I was over watering(once per two days), which caused poor root development and therefore very small strain and slow growth and poor yield. Besides I was using only tap water. tap water is usually around 7.5-8.5. Depends on your area. But you really want to get that to 5.7 - 6pH. So roots could properly absorb all the nutes from soil. I got ph test in aquarium shop, they had ph stripes or liquid, i took liquid. And they are relatively cheap. (if you will be getting one, please make sure you buy one with the range 4-14pH, some of them start from 6 or 7.)
I would say water it once per 3-4 days and add few times per day some water spray on foliage. Just make the leaves covered with light water dust, not with big water drops. Cause they sometimes can harm the leave while forming lens and burning the leave. At first it takes some time to kick in, sometimes it stops growing and uses grow energy elsewhere, i.e. in strengthening stem or expanding roots, however once it will have like 3-4 sets of leaves everything will go way faster. What is your strain? Did you tried googling other people grow journals with that strain? Make your own grow journal and we can share some experience while growing it ;)

By the way, how is the growth now? Since few days passed, maybe it's already back on track?
Cheers!
