My indoors set-up/advise needed.

Hi everyone, I am currently getting ready for my tiny indoors opperation. For privacy issues I decided to grow in my bedroom - no need to share my little "guilty" habit with visitors. I don't have enough money to change the furniture in my room(modify, replace). In fact, I barely have the money to pick up the stuff I need from the hydro store.. I am going to grow in a chest of draws that is a part of a more complex unit. I will detach the removable base of each draw (no permanent damage done) and I will then place some kind of fan inside to blow slightly bellow the lamp. The ventilation is going to be weak though, as I am not going to damage the unit by opening a proper hole[it belongs to the landlord]. The best I can do is leave the top draw open at daytime..

The space
is about 2.4 ft.(high) x 2.6 ft. (long) x 1.2 ft(wide) . I think I am going to place Mylar - Diamond reflective sheeting inside(is it worth the extra money?) and start with fluoro tubes that add upto ~50watt's (experience tells me that its superb for early veg keeps it Ultra-bushy, in fact it could even harvest a pitiful 1/2oz of dry bud if ever needed to). Ofc after a couple of weeks I will have to upgrade my grow by bringing in some more ..real.. grow-lights.
My lighting options are:

Either (1) CFL 300W* 2700k/6400k/14000k,
or (1) HPS 250W dual specrtum + reflector.

*I get no hood with the CFL bulb.

I can get these products with a great enough discount for me to afford them. But I can only buy ONE of these products. Anything else my money can get me is not even worth mentioning.

I do understand that I don't have much to work with, but I have no space for any other kind of grow ATM.. Hopefully you guys can help me work this out and get a few oz of decent bud.
So here are my questions:

1) Will my little sized wooden unit take the heat from a 250W dual spectrum lamp? I was hoping that the reflector hood and the Diamond reflective sheeting would cover safety issues with a random '12x12x38ΜΜ 24V DC fan' blowing just below the lamp? I found that for 10 bucks the other day..

2) I think I am going to do this in a SoG manner with LST. How many pots do you think I can fit in there? Should I use one gallon or two?

Let me put it this way...
If I didn't have the cash to grow I probably wouldn't waste what little I did have on a half-assed setup.

You should definitely save your cash on the mylar and just put it into more lighting. I'd go with all daylight cfl bulbs in clamp light reflectors. Each bulb+reflector is about $8... Save some quarters... It isn't that expensive.

Otherwise I guess you have it pretty figured out. Not a lot of information regarding the number of plants or method of growing... Maybe 4 plants, keep them small, you could get 2 ounces or so on about 150w to 200w of CFLs.

I don't think you'll be able to handle the heat from a 250w hps, maybe a 150w, or you could add more ventilation (noise).

Ventilation noise is not a problem. I'm not actually trying to do a stealth grow.. I'll post a picture of the unit I'm going to use within the next hours, hopefully that will help. If I skip the mylar and stick to foil I can pick up an AIR Circulators & Fan 23cm 3 Speed' (http://www.gale-force.org.uk/images/eh0118.JPG). Do you think I can do work with that and the HPS in such a small space? As I said I can open the draw slightly when the lights are on no problem.
