My LED fluoro grow #1

Treeth good info yet again, I flushed with ph'ed tap water so hopefully that helped. Maybe in the future I'll use a combo of dehumidifier water and tap water ph'ed of course. but here is the question of the day are my plants officially rootbound? Some people told me it takes quite awhile but you tell me, check the pics. the pics are of 1 of the plants that has been affected the most the others look pretty good just seem to be growing a little slow

the roots loog good and yes a bit root bound. put in a bigger pot. the last pic looks like nitregon diff.

Well I went ahead with the transplant on on 6/11. I went to the hydro store and bought some 4 gallon pots, root promoter, happy frog soil and perlite. Mix the 3/4 soil and 1/4 perlite and sprinkled the root promoter on the new soil before adding the plant and filled in around the sides. gave them some ph'ed water with the fox farm grow big and a tbsp of molasses after it was all done. It was a good amount of work but it has seemed to pay of with an increases in growth rate as well as improving the appearance of the plants leaves and color. the larger pot spread out the footprint of the grow so I raised the UFO to give better coverage and will be adding more CLF's shortly, also picked up a new oscillating fan. I'll give them a couple days i think before I switch them to flower. It will give me some time to gather some supplies and get the plants used to their new homes. Will have updated pics soon need more batteries for the camera

I was jonesin' for an update bean!
I'll update in a day or two with pics as well...
as I'm on the second half of the construction of my flowerings area.

I think I know what I'm doing!

Treeth Jones no longer heres the pics. Took 1 of the stuff I used for transplant and my nutes then the other are just the ladies at different angles and a couple fairly close-ups. Tell me what you think? I know I think they are looking much better but I want some input from others and suggestions.

Ok since the transplant on 6/11 things are taking off! I decided not to wait any longer to flower so I gave them 24 hours off darkness and turned the clocks to 14/10. What do you think? I heard the plants still go into flower like a 12/12 cycle plant would but you get 2 extra hours of light each day bonus! Gonna switch to to fox farm tiger bloom and big bloom with molasses in each watering (think I was under feeding them) Here are some pics
#1 over view of them with the fluoros moved to get a better picture
#2 two headed monster
#3 3 headed monster
#4 the shorter bushes

what is that air fliter looking thing you have in the room. is it an air purifier? plus does it control order? i went to Wally world yesterday n seen on like it for cheap. i need on that will control order when they start to stink in to flowering.. could u let me know what that is plz? ty in advance..

Smoker you guessed it it is a filter for a air handler its like 2 bucks and change and I cut it in half and get 2 uses out of 1. Its just to purify the air intake don't know if it helps with smell but I have a exhaust fan running 24/7 to create a negative pressure and it doesn't really smell outside the box

Beanie~!

I got a couple of points, if they already haven't been addressed:

1. Do you have drainage holes in the bottoms of those pots, and some sort of tray to catch the water in if the floor is not water... savvy?

2. 14/10 is very doable with the Infrared bulb. I'm trying 15 to be safe, but 16 is probably good too. I was happy running 16/8 for veg... more stretch, less bush.
- With the IR bulb i'll bet its good.

Unfortunately I can't experiment myself...

I'm away from the girls for a month or so. I hope that they're happy.

Here is my flowering room.

78 amps on that fixture.

or... 942 watts.

I have no idea what is going to happen.

Those DWC buckets had better treat those plants good,

As well as the Canna nutes I went for.

Madness!
But there is a method...

Here are the pics I promised

Treeth I have a double layer of painters plastic lining the bottom of the room to catch drainage haven't had much runoff it dries fast keeping the humidity around 50-55% Still looking for IR bulbs and some UVB fluors that fit my strip fixtures

i was looking at on from wallyworld ,they had on for 15 bux, says it helps with purifiying air n to help with odors. its alos an ionizer too. im so new to all this and was hoping it would work when they start to flower.. the room there in cant seep out too much smell but wanna make sure, there is my son in the house n he dont need to asking what that smell is..ya know whatt i mean.. so i might just buy on to see if it works.
my lil babies are only 9days old so i got time to get one..

Flourescent UVB Tubes

> This is where I got mine, I got mine, oh baby...

Oh, and the spectral distribution put out by those bulbs, or at least the reptisuns I got, is incredible. Lots of 450~ blue, and not very strong until over 600 red!

The IR bulbs are fat suckers, and have elements like HPS bulbs,

therefore I don't think you'll find it in tubes.

It is probably best just to go to Hemp Depot and pick up the mogul base and the bulb in one trip.

I hung mine on the ceiling, and angled them so that the direct rays wouldn't hit the girls... Its kind of strong. It destroys plant material, if direct. Although, IR rays are like over a foot long or something, so they bounce around the room' .

hey im useing almost the same set up as you and i aswell had the first set of fan leaves curl up and damn near dry out they kinda rolled on them self ....... i heard a few reasons for this 1 to hot or lights to close ..... i know with mine thats prolly not it .... to much nutes..... maybe not enough water...... but the thing that i think it is ... a crack in the leaves like when they were transplanted or when you were check for mites or any old thing that could cause damage to the plant .....

So hows everyone doing today? things are good in the closet, the seeds I've grown have officially been in soil 2 months now, and I'm in flower mode and have change the lights to 14/10 now for 3-4 days temps are around 77-80 F when the lights are on and humidity is 50-65%( I have to keep an eye on my dehumidifier res and make sure I empty it frequently enough been humid) and just gave them their first taste of flowering nutes fox farm big bloom, tiger bloom , and molasses. Still can't tell the sex of the plants but looks like we have the start what might be the determining parts. Added 2 19 watt CFL's and changed the other CFL's to the 3000K rating except 2 of CFL's and the strip fluoros, basically 6 19 watt 3000k and 2 14 watt 6400k plus the 2 strip 24 watt 6400k t5 strips and the 90 watt UFO LED for a grand total of 280 watts.
Treeth finally picked up some UVB and IR lamps can't wait to see the effects but I'm still not sure exactly how to use them. With the UVB's I think I'm supposed to start using them at the first signs of Trich development and only for like an hour a day at first and gradually increasing the amount for time they are on as not to stress the plants too much. Now with the IR I think you use them at the beginning and/or just the end of the light cycle (when the come and and when the go off)? (I don't know I'm asking) Also Are you supposed to point the IR's at the plants directly or indirectly heard thy might damage plant tissue. I got 2 50 watters of the red IR and 2 UVB t5 fluoros retipsun 10.0

Yo bean.

-I think of the IR literally as a switch, which when activated produces the hormones that tell the plant its sexy time.

Very sexy time.

I actually run mine in the "sunrise, noon, and nightfall" on my 15 minute day cycle timer...

The 50 watt bulbs aren't bad; you can probably direct them right at the plants. I'd of course watch is the first time at least and note the affects.

- Oh,

Don't stop using the veg nutes until they are really showing,

or else they will run out of nitrogen later in the cycle,

which is the worst for development.

-Run those UVB all day.

no reason not to. Perhaps waiting until they actually start making resin makes sense, however they do it even out of flower when considering a good chunk of legit genetics.

It really can't hurt, they don't really put out crazy damaging amounts of uvb (actually, the damaging rays are uva), and they'll add to your total wattage. They do put out normal spectrums. When you get them, check it out on the packaging. I was ecstatic when I checked the last time, having ordered them before I really knew what the kind of distribution and wavelengths makes sense for plants. Long scentance.

The strong plants look really good!

And they are going to really start putting on vertical now that the lights have been cut down, as significant cell division only occurs in the dark cycle.

Peace

I liked that you wired that shit yourself. I'll probably need guidance in that department eventually.

i have a question maybe u can help me with. i have two vegging females growing in a similar setup only mine has 2 t12 bulbs in each fixture and no led. i have had the plants on 24 hour light since seed and they are very bushy. should i leave the lights alone? i plan to use them both for mothers. will post pics asap
