Thanx Nugs. They arnt 'Donkey Dicks' but I'm hoping for a great Ice Hash crop. Do you think if I do a full mainline grow, compared to this one I would have a better ice hash yield? I actually dont care about buds to smoke, whatcha think?

i wouldn't advise "wasting" the hard buds on making bubble....bubble should be made with your sugar leaf trimmings, and larfy buds....buds that are compact do not yield much hash....but the loose ones, and trim will...do yourself a favor and at least keep the terminal/tight buds for smoke....then use the rest for your hash....Main-Lining creates much more compact flower, and much less primo hash making material overall...it is a method tailored for growers who want to maximize their yields of top-shelf dense flowers with little in the way of popcorn.....

This is SOO true. I was pretty surprised that from 4 plants under a 600 watt HPS I had to look hard to find enough larf for a even a single 1-gal hash run.
Nugs is right. Tight nuggets don't hash very well. My theory is that the trichomes inside the tight bud are all goey'd together and don't dislodge as well as the exposed trichomes on sugar leaf and larf. If you plan to hash whole (fresh/frozen) buds, carefully cut them apart- don't chop or grind. Any fresh trichomes that get touched are wasted. Once the little membrane on the trichome top is busted, the head won't and shear off and screen out properly when you mix.
Ok so what method of training/growing would be the best for ice hash? Seeing sugar trim and light buds is what u want, does anyone actually grow specifically for ice hash, not addressing strain at this point, just grow method. Again I really don't need or want buds. I realize I'll have some buds with whatever I do. Seems counter intuitive to not grow for buds, isn't that where sugar trim stacks up?

Growing bud I like the highest calyx / leaf ratio. Growing for hash alone, I guess you would want lowest calyx / leaf ratio. Not sure how to accomplish that other than selecting a strain (like Hash Plant or some kind of afghani indica).

i would highly recommend grabbing some Space Bomb......don't Main-Line it, but top it multiple times to form a low, wide bush...or better yet LST or Scrog it, and create as many bud sites as possible...pinch, pinch, pinch....then raise your lights a little higher off the canopy, and make sure you feed it Bud Candy or other sugars at day 30 and 45......with the right pheno, you will have more sugar then you know what to do with!
i would also go a little lighter on the super soil, and have available some organic liquid nitrogen and use it through week 5 or so of flower, what this will do is increase your total leaf surface area to hold resin......sometimes this happens accidentally (lol), when a plant gets a dose of N too late in the flowering period.......

I happen to have a 5 pack of space bomb, also have skellington (and some others). If I understand u correctly, raising the lights, u want more stretch and less condense buds? If so I seem to be doing that already as a newbie mistake. My main goal in all of this is to find a strain that can help me sleep and be an awesome quality ice hash producer.

dinafem has an autocheese that grows as nearly straight leaf and then huge calyxes mixed in small loose formations and crystally as all hell....ran it for free def not my cup of tea but for your purposes i guess it would be great...
