If you are gonna try and buy nutes,go with fox farm soil...on a budget,Walmart,well,our choices are kinda limited there...expert gardener,miracle gro,and I think they carry scotts...If they do,scotts would be my choice for what you have in mind....you won't need nutes til flowering,and we can shop around and find something that meets your budget and still gets the job done....don't forget to keep an eye on the daily tips thread,got some great growers stopping by and leaving tips...you will get good info from these guys

i already have GNATS aKa fruit flys in my house lol,thousands,they r phsyco cause we have rabbits ad we have them everywhere,and ill prlly buy the Scotts! i mean ill prolly getsuch a shitty yield neways cnsidering im only going to be runnig like 4 to 6 lights during flowering,i cant buy a HPS light untili get a job,which is hard to do without smoking weed with me cause of my anxiety! haha

yea i just sold my 250w mh and hps cause much to hot for my grow area even with fans cant keep temp down so using the enviros man they dont get hot at all

bfq gave good advice,that is the preferred way to do it....I didn't though,mine is straight out of the bag for this grow....I will say now,that I will be changing over to something better

UKcyrus... please dont take this wrong... this is one of those cases of relativity... but that light IS small and doesnt penetrate that well.

i aint slamming on you... that light is 10x as big as my bulbs, but it isnt half of a 200 watt HPS.

and for the record, a 200 watt HPS is small too ;)

you want to grow big tall plants you want at least 400 watts of HPS.

but hey, it is your grow do as you want... one of two things will happen... you will discover i gave you good advice or you will discover i am wrong... either way, you will know what works for you :)

well after i actually get somewhat of a yield! ill invest more money into it i need to actually get it going u know what i mean!?ill be going to Walmart not this Wedsnday but the next Wedsnday after most likely,or tommorrow idk! hopefully tommorrow though,but yea ill check out all the soils they have,is the a preffered a mmount of nutes i hsoud look foin soil like the levels?or anything in that sort?

also im trying to save up for the Aerogarden that was featured on the cover of high times this month! it looks amazing,comes with everything all i need is the seeds,and the water! haha but its expensive as hel

gotch cyrus...I worried about heat too....I did a ton of reading on growing indoor...So,I bought a sealed hood,paid 6.00 for ducting,and tore apart a broken electric heater for my fan...with the nice intake from the closet next door,I can keep it in the 70's all the time....I don't think it would have worked without the sealed hood

hey man yea no probs i aint calling you a wanker or anything mate lol i was jus sayin i got two of em n i have seen the buds they produced cause my mate uses the same lights but he does the enviro from seed n i dont.. but his plants looked the same as one you'd find under a hps light.. but i tell you what buddie its my first real proper grow mate so im takin ur advice aswell but like i said man hps n mh are to hot for my grow room theres a water heater in there 2!! so im stick with these for the min until i see some poor ass bud then thats wen i go get a 600watter with a fuckin aircon until lol

i grow pretty decent buds myself and i am just using CFL's... a LOT of CFL's :p

when i get my new cab going i will be running ducted HPS though... as much as possible ;)

if i can get a kilowatt into the cab, i will :twisted:

yes, i will hit an O per plant no problem... i have 600 watts with the CFLs and that will give me an O per plant now that i have the ScrOG theory down pretty well... when i go to HPS/MH i will pass that easily.

knowing the strain growing helps a lot... after awhile it gets like clock work which branches you trim off cause you know they will be more trouble to manicure than they are worth.

to start with, i just wanted to make sure i could get the plants to live till harvest time... now it is all about dialing it in and upgrading.

the ScrOG rack i built just recently is worlds better than my original design... and my final design will be perfect (for my setup)... efficiency is the key.
