My makeshift vaporizer and the horrible stench

ok guys ive attempted to make a portable vaporizer from a test tube and it seems to have worked (i.e - im pretty high right now), but i remember smelling a toxic-like smell at the end of my session.
I do not know why that smell was coming (asin ive never smelt something of the like before), but at the start there was the pretty obvious smell of vaporized weed (even though this is my first time using a vaporizer).
I'm pretty worried, i hope there wasnt anything in the test-tube that had evaporated and i inhaled (though i did immerse it for ~20minutes in boiling water before i attempted to make the vaporizer), however ive attached a pic
of it so if anyone could perhaps point me to the right direction (perhaps that horrid smell always exists in portable glass vaporizers?)

that looks like a pretty clean setup . . . it was either the cork, or the weed itself.

I heard it smells like burnt popcorn. I wouldnt worry to much. when i made my first bong I to thought I was smelling something chemical. It was only the weed though lol it has a sweet scent to it.

i dont know man, maybe you smoked some of whatever was mixed in the test tube!

naw youll be fine, maybe the glass is coated in something but eiter way the smell will probably be gone by the time your high is

Hey guys, thanks so much for the responses, i feel a bit reassured now. In any case i am almost positive that this smell did not come from the weed however i now have a feeling that the cork had started to heat and that was the smell it gave off when it charred.

I done the exact same thing but didn't have a cork, made a disgusting toxic smell so don't do it now, just puts me off enjoying a nice smoke

hmm so then maybe it wasnt the cork.. argh i wonder what it was ?!
